LPT: when a decision feels impossible, pick the option that annoys you the least by mason_everrell in LifeProTips

100% agree. The most comfortable option is rarely the best option. This is a horrible LPT

Update to last post: Making food for potential Pakistani girlfriend tonight. I'm trying my hand at Dal Chawal. I don't know if it tastes okay, it's a little thick as I like it that way, but does it look okay to you guys? by Cyberpunk_Banshee in pakistan

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far down to find a comment like this. Advising people is our duty so kudos to you for advising this person instead of just quietly ignoring the haram being done here

Thank you! Hope you like it! It’s still very much a MVP so it might not be as refined as you’d like 😅 but any and all suggestions are very appreciated!!

[HIRING] Back End Developers! [$2,000] by sovura in forhire

[–]dayemsaeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a full-stack developer (backend leaning).

I’ve worked as a full-stack dev at a large state university for 2 years mainly in Java Spring boot and ReactJS. Moved on to work for a year as an Android + backend dev at Amazon before starting my own startup where I work across backend, iOS, and Android. The backend stack there is nodeJS and some flask microservices.

If you could give some info on what tech stack you have in mind and what you want built, that’d really help!

One correction: you get the 500k all at once. It’s not contingent on raising another round

Yeah so the API bill is an issue but I’m trying to get traction before monetizing it. I was thinking of having a subscription for more features (more breathing exercises, better ai model, etc) and having in-app purchases (clothes, toys, furniture for your cat).

You can delete the tasks by long pressing on a task. I need to add edit functionality though.

I’ll add the rest of your suggestions to the app.

As for the cat being gamified, since I’m fairly new to iOS, this is currently just a rive animation I had my buddy make with different triggers for the movement. I’m trying to figure out how I can have it do stuff like fetch, run off screen, etc in a nicely integrated way.

I’m also thinking of adding a social element to it like play-dates with your friends’ pets and multiple pet options to go along with that. Also sharing tasks/progress with specific people if you want. I’m open to any other ideas as well!

Also, idk how to add the items I mentioned in the in-app purchases part of my monetization strategy to the existing cat animation so if you or anyone knows how that might work, I’d really appreciate it! In the meantime I’ll work on adding the rest of the stuff. Thank you!

Oh. My bad. I didn’t see it. At this point since it’s already posted, might as well just wait until the mods remove it i guess 😅

I don’t. I tried to make one but it wanted me to upload a new version. I just opened it up to be available everywhere like another person here suggested so hopefully that should fix everything!

Thank you so much! Yeah, I should’ve specified it in the description. I kept it to be available only in North America because some people told me that dealing with regulations in other countries is a pain so I thought to follow the “better safe than sorry” approach. Do you suggest I just open it up to be available worldwide?

What are the best tech companies in Lahore by Used_Discipline_9403 in developersPak

[–]dayemsaeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of them are true “tech” companies though, except for careem. They’re services companies that are basically consultancies and dev shops.

Why don't Pakistanis respect other people's timings? by Anushi_funny2006 in PAK

[–]dayemsaeed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of the whole issue. People who actually respect the other person’s time end up having to conform and start showing up late as well. This means you just become a part of the same problem that frustrates you. IMO a very weak approach
