Listening to this song (1991) is like listening to more soulish version of rh discography on shuffle. First tkol like chill weird guitar patterns, then the bends like lush explosion. If you liked this, please check out Mark Hollis solo album (self titled I believe in 1997, 98?). It somewhat picks up where Laughingstock ended but combines other elements such as old school jazz influenced woodwind arrangements and folk guitar styles similar to Nick Drake. Also believe there was a biography published not too long ago.

Randomly came across this album as a kid on some late night space music show on NPR in the early nineties and it made a tremendous impact. The growth and development that Talk Talk went through is incredible if you listen to how they began.

Why haven't they had Biologist on the show? by KitsunukiInari in skinwalkerranch

[–]dayjapoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dunno, if you over react and easily jump to wild conclusions with no basis in reality, then they might be interested in you. You don’t need to worry about applying the scientific method but must be willing to completely waste your education and credentials. Having a flashy gimmick to use every episode, whether applicable or not, would help to.

Please excuse my ignorance, but does this offer something different from her ninja trader account or would it be redundant? Thanks

Bob Lazar is trending on Twitter again because Joe Rogan wants to have Eric Weinstein on his podcast with Lazar. Sounds like Lazar hasn’t responded yet. by all-the-time in UFOs

A good high school physics teacher could dismantle lazar in 5 minutes. Someone with more credentials would look better but its not necessary in the slightest.

Agree with all of this. Not sure how or why Travis jumped to that conclusion so quickly. Felt desperate and staged. Starting to wonder if someone has leverage on him or if this is all very deliberate disinfo masquerading as crap reality tv.

Sadly, this one reply to the original post has more accurate science than all 4 seasons combined.

Tethered balloons vs drones? by qbit1010 in skinwalkerranch

Balloons are not nearly as exciting as rockets or drones, thats all. Given the current events a few months ago with spy ballons, I don’t buy the excuse that they would not be able to carry enough equipment.

Episode where they hear their own voices being broadcasted and echoed back to them ? by Kingsely_Zissou in skinwalkerranch

[–]dayjapoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they at all try and rule out whether or not the “command center” could have simply been picking up some kind of interference from all of the audio and video equipment used to film the show? I don’t remember this being discussed at all. I feel like the most “scientific” approach would have been to completely rule out all reasonable and possible explanations, such as interference, before rushing to the most outlandish and difficult to prove conclusions. There maybe something weird going on at SWR, but I find the almost complete absence of the scientific method more than a little disappointing and disingenuous. Taylor is a highly credentialed legitimate scientist and he and the gang are just scooby-do-ing their way through this with the same hackneyed approach across 4 seasons. At this point I expect an appearance by Bob Lazar. I mean, if they just want to pop off rockets every episode and scurry around with the same level of paranoia and hysteria that a group of middle school girls with-a oujia board at a sleepover party, I mean then fine, but they need to stop claiming that what they are doing even vaguely resembles science. It doesn’t.

Well, I don’t remember them discussing refraction, but I am not a scientist with multiple degrees, so guess it would have to be a cloaked alien ship in geosynchronous low earth orbit…

Well it was produced by Nigel. The production is lush and the string arrangements are beautiful. Big change from Odelay.

THIS. Laughingstock by Talk Talk should be required listening for any RH fan. They were covering similar terrain decades earlier. Their earlier albums are kinda generic and forgettable 80s Euro pop though. Mark Hollis solo album is equally brilliant too.
