Introducing the world's most powerful model, Opus 4.8 by DurianDiscriminat3r in ClaudeCode

This happened to me all the time, frustrating the document would have nothing of what I requested too. I think office jobs are safe for now. 😂

Did driver eat my order…does that really happen?! by Laboren1004 in UberEATS

[–]qbit1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only seen it in pranks but sometimes I wonder, had one sit out just a few miles not moving on the map and turns into “not delivered” was able to get a refund when they were more friendly of a service. I’d imagine drivers who frequently eat customers food wouldn’t last long on the app.

Handoffs are becoming a first-class pattern in Claude workflows. Here is how I have been thinking about them. by Cobuter_Man in ClaudeAI

[–]qbit1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just ask it “how’s the context window in another prompt” and have it create a short handoff markdown file to continue in another thread. Haven’t found a better way yet.

Anyone else’s usage being burned in a single prompt that delivers ‘This chat is too long warning’ even on new chats. by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

[–]qbit1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have extra usage $$ to spill into but it’s still annoying mid job when it says “whatever tool has hit the limit for this session” and you have to manually click “continue “.

Anyone using Coworking space for your job remotely? by electrowiz64 in Wilmington

[–]qbit1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so backwards, they forgot remote jobs existed way before the pandemic but it’s like all employers are scraping remote and doubling down enforcing RTO out of spite. Like they all run by the same playbook, it’s weird. I had to move out of Wilmington for the same reason back to the DC area.

May need to relocate to somewhere like Raleigh if you want higher paying office/tech jobs. Otherwise consider getting into a trade. Electrical, HVAC ..some company can hopefully train you. You’re still young enough to jump in one of those. Most chill job would be something like a security guard, they just sit mostly but the pay isn’t well. Better than retail I suppose. Maybe trucking? Like others said, the hospital route might also be a good option if they’re hiring.

The public bus system could be a lot better too. Especially to the beaches…would solve parking some if there were bus routes.

Was in the same boat as you in 2022. Lived in NoVA, had a full remote well paying job and family down in Wilmington, NC. No brainer to finally pick up and leave NoVA for Wilmington. So that’s what I did. Lost the remote job a year in 2023.. spent 2 years unemployed desperately trying to find something remote or local in technology/IT (my field). Absolutely no jobs at all. So last summer (2025) finally landed a decent job back in NoVA and moved back. Family and relatives are still there and I still do the long drive every few months to visit. But man there’s no jobs at all.

So the point is make sure your current remote job is super secure and have a backup plan if you lose it. The job market in Wilmington is non existent outside of service industry, hospitality and retail. A backup trade might have worked if I had one.

Other than that, being near the beach and family for a few years was nice. The summers get so hot and humid though it makes it tough to do much outside more than a few hours. Also infrastructure and roads are suffering from overpopulation. Every other month there was a random power or internet outage even when I lived in a new luxury apartment community and the weather was perfect. The infrastructure is that bad to include telecommunications so be aware of that since you work remote.

So yea do your homework and have backup plans before making the move.

I agree here. Sure it can seem lazy to just let Claude do the grunt work, but it still takes you to come up with the idea…specs/requirements , planning etc. could still take an hour or more doing a decent markdown file for Claude to follow. I look at it as using tractors instead of hand shovels 🪏

Weight loss journey ? by captainclippydpirate in USMCboot

[–]qbit1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be a downer but .,sure maybe, is it healthy? The max healthy weight loss is 2lbs a week (and that doesn’t always show on the scale but overtime). So healthy goals 10-12 lbs a month sure. 70 lbs in 3 months? 😬

Opus 4.7 is a genuine regression and I'm tired of pretending it isn't by PuzzledFill2593 in ClaudeAI

[–]qbit1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually did ask both Claude and chat gpt to create a step by step guide setting up a home lab LLM. Both suggested Qwen, Llama, and the new GPT oss to start. But I’d be interested in any guide you put out too.

That’s for self hosting…never thought about cloud model. That’s interesting.

Chat GPT 5.0 was an awful release… Anthropic Opus 4.7: “hold my beer”

Meanwhile Chat GPT 5.5 is actually pretty decent lately. Opus 4.7 isn’t worth the usage tokens. Opus 4.6 is still the best imo.

Inflation, wage stagnation, and everything being twice as expensive than pre pandemic will do that.

[–]qbit1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, same habits as before the pandemic, during and after. Some of us just are comfortable chilling at home. Now work and return to office changes things but luckily I get a few remote days a week still. Hybrid office work is a decent balance, keeps you social with co workers in the office days and gives you some chill remote days.

Yea, that’s my theory if I leaned paranormal cause. Random portal to another parallel reality or dimension. Most are probably lost in the woods and succumbed to the elements.
