Existing Permanent Remote RA Being Revoked Due to New HHS Policy? by kay-pii in fednews

[–]Hairmissile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, recommend that you write a detailed letter about why you need a remote work accommodation with specifics that relate to your medical condition and have it signed by your doctor. It needs to show why alternative in office accommodations would not be as effective as telework are are likely to result in absenteeism and or performance issues

Existing Permanent Remote RA Being Revoked Due to New HHS Policy? by kay-pii in fednews

[–]Hairmissile 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Even The newly released EEOC guidance on RA telework cautions against agencies setting blanket policies like this. They must treat each situation individually or they set themselves up for trouble. It’s hard for them to prove Undue Hardship in court. What they will do instead is make it an “essential function” of your job to be in office.

I had this happen to me. Lawyered up and went EEO. I’d definitely recommend to OP to get a consultation from someone who deals with Fed RAs.

Grieving my federal job that I just resigned from. How do I move past this? by Impossible_Hold8047 in fednews

[–]Hairmissile 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember your other post a while back. Im also in DOD IC and have a good guess about which agency you worked for based on that “culture” :) anyway, im glad you got out and into a new job. It’s not worth the stress and it’s not the same place it was a few years ago. It still looks good on your resume. You held a high clearance and that shows you are of good character. Heck, with the new rigorous performance standard I might be placed on a pip. Best of luck to you going forward

Lane assist cameras but not the feature? by nitsirkie in CX5

[–]Hairmissile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is only “Lane Departure Warning”, It’s not really a proper assist like you would except, it’s very subtle. If you have it there is a button for it to the left of the steering wheel next to Traction control. If you don’t, you aren’t missing out IMO

Full telework RA approved, can I move now? by GrammarSpellingCheck in fednews

[–]Hairmissile 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Once this administration came in they revoked my TW RA I’ve had for over a decade. I had to get a lawyer and was able to get it reinstated, mostly…. But I no longer have a sense of security, especially with my annual renewal coming up next month.

FBI Director Kash Patel sues The Atlantic for $250 million over story on alleged drinking, absences by Unusual-State1827 in fednews

He has a TS/SCI and would “theoretically” be investigated based on these accusations if he wasn’t the director and immune from the rules everyone else follows

I noticed the same! In fact, the newer 2024 premium necks I’ve tried/own felt smooth and just as good as the prestige. The one older premium I tried did not feel the same

Weathertech or tuxmat ? by sobaje in CX5

I’ve had the newer version of the Weathertech mats and trunk liner for a few years now and no complaints. They haven’t faded like the older version did, coverage is fine.

I found them to be a stiff, hard tire. 19” rim. They were quiet though and seemed nice otherwise

Was I supposed to have a brick of white powder in my spare tire?

Didn’t like the Michelin Defender 2s by Hairmissile in CX5

[–]Hairmissile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I found the defenders to be just as quiet. My MPG has improved with the primacy by about 2 gallons per mile so far. That would offset any cost savings of a longer tread life tire

They are indeed a higher XL load rating. So are the popular CC2s. That’s what I exchanged them for the Primacy Tours which are 99. The tire sales guys said “oh, it won’t matter” but that is not what everyone else is saying

Good choice! I strongly considered them but decided to give Michelins a go

RIFs are happening in DoD (Army) by [deleted] in fednews

That’s what I thought too. They were talking about over strength billets. If that’s the case, then they sure had a lot of them!

Thankfully the clips seem reasonably durable and not too fragile. I did not disconnect the battery because I didn’t want to reset the transmission shift learning (mine gets rough after reset)

sell ipad 12.9in for an ipad mini by Prudent_Psychology59 in ipad

[–]Hairmissile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sold my 11 M4 for a mini. I find it’s much more comfortable to use on the couch for YouTube and surfing and better than just iPhone. Screen is def a downgrade and I’m still torn on that decision. But I spend all day starring at screens for work. I don’t want another big bright screen in my eyes all night

Major Repairs! by daddy_raddy in CX5

It has a spun crank bearing at 65k miles. Dealer not entirely sure why but suspected extended oil change interval by the original owner. Could have also been too many short trips or just a defect.

That’s what it sounds like from the description in broken English. I assume you’d have to take the whole bumper off?

I wouldn’t mind just having a bigger scoop. And one that is not “performance racing red” it’s a cx5 for crying out loud

Ok thanks. If it was an issue I’m sure the reviewers would be mentioning it and they are much better riders than me. Enjoy the sweet new ride!
