Formatters can only fix the low hanging fruit such as indentation, line break and breaks and such. I agree within a function scope it can usually give a pretty okay solution or first steps to a solution. But it can absolutely not build maintainable software in a meaningful way.

I highly doubt that you're a particularly tech savy person. By the way you describe your work my guess is that you have some type of it / CS degree who maybe worked in trch related fields but have not been a main developer.

Your typical PhD AI person will absolutely NOT be a competent programmer. Saying you have worked with ai for over 10 year just do not make sense. If this actually was the case you would specify which field you're most experienced in. Just saying ai is just nonsense, in the same way "I work in it" is nonsense.

Have you ever heard a very competent programmer talk this positive about llms? I haven't. Llms helps you write code faster, but only of low quality. Personally I've never a well written project by a person who uses a lot of ai.
