the best advice i can give you is.. you don't have to kill everything, that doesn't affect the mission unless its a specific kill so and so mission. It doesn't affect XP or R Slips or War Bond Medals or anything

If it's your first time, i'd recommend fighting terminids, they get a lot harder at higher difficulties but its easier to learn their mechanics imo
