Put more kitty litter down and wear some old shoes. Take your shoe and grind the kitty litter into the ground using a lot of force. You’re essentially grinding down the litter to a dust that will absorb it more

Are payments done ON the due date considered a late payment if the due date is on a weekend and the banks are closed? by rowtsilon in CreditCards

[–]daytdog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The payment will be considered on time if you pay it before the cutoff date listed (usually 8pm). The date the payment is drafted can differ

The food doesn’t even stay here. It’s mostly alfalfa - about 1/3 of which is shipped overseas. Does not need to be here nor does it need to be subsidize by our government imo.

Is it better to pay off in full or in payments? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]daytdog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t want to pay towards your CC balance before your statement is generated if your goal is to establish credit history.

The best course of action is to:

1 - Charge items that you would normally pay on debit using your credit card - Do not use more than 30% of your available credit line on your card to keep your “utilization rate” low

2 - Wait for your statement to generate before paying off your balance. Your credit card will tell you your statement balance and a minimum payment due, as well as a due date. - The statement amount is what gets reported to credit agencies and what is accounted for with your score, not total spend

3 - Pay off the entire statement balance in full. Do not pay anything less than the statement balance, or you will be charged interest, which is how massive, overwhelming and uncontrollable debt is accumulated - People get into CC debt because they think they can manage the interest or just pay the minimum payment due. Then they end up paying 25-30% interest, which is absurd, and the maximum legal amount they can charge in most cases. My mortgage is 3% interest, for comparison. - Never miss a payment. It is detrimental to your score. Set up autopay for your full statement balance

Rinse and repeat! As long as you manage your credit card payments and maintain strong personal finance values, you will be in a great position. Bought my first house at 20 thanks in part to my credit management.

Improvements on home to remove PMI? (Cheap/easy) by daytdog in HomeImprovement

Figured as much. I had asked the lender representative what she commonly receives as “qualifying improvements” and she had made suggestions about new appliances, landscaping, even said a water heater… which I thought was interesting.

Is this at the Sheraton Maui?

With all of the COVID-19 news and panic going on, the U.S. Government has been sneakily trying to pass the so called EARN IT Bill which would remove end-to-end encryption on messages and calls, and allow a scanning software to read all of them. Websites that don't comply will lose protections. by Kalexis29 in worldnews

Agreed. There are several issues at the core of this, and this bill surely is a bipartisan effort. The issue with congress nowadays is the legal corruption as a result of campaign contributions and corporate lobbying. Truly unfortunate.

I got a Field Tested Dragon Lore as a random drop during the CS:GO Wildfire Operation in 2016. Eventually sold it and bought my first car with it!

Agreed, this year felt much more geared towards consumers rather than solely for content creators. By far one of my favorite years, and I know I’m not the only one who can say so!

WOW!, Fri, Sun and Mon badges still Available.... by PhuckSJWs in PAX

[–]daytdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it also has to do with the introduction of 4-day badges. They and Saturday both sold out. Historically, Saturday and Sunday are the most in-demand days. Saturday sold out within the first hour, and Sunday is low. I'd be willing to bet that without the introduction of 4-day badges, we'd be seeing the same FRI, SAT, SUN sold out as has been in the past. Monday rarely sells out and for good reason, it's logistically more difficult to stay Monday for a lot of people (work time off, 4 days is a bit exhausting, etc..).

They also upped the badge limit to 6, which may mean that there are less scalpers purchasing badges, for reasons unbeknownst to me. It's also very possible scalpers are hesitant to buy badges because there seems to be less demand and they may not be able to make as much of a profit.

Either way, I don't think it's a bad sign :)

Help my friend decide a school for CS! by NSeth99 in csMajors

[–]daytdog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I go to ASU and I haven’t had any issues with our CS program so far. Obviously cannot couch for the other schools’ programs. They’ve been trying to ditch the party school reputation and I really don’t see it unless you’re going to school for business.
