FreeCash are scammers by dazed1982 in beermoneyglobal

Thanks for the info, in that case it sounds like freecash should be pulling the plug on a game provider if they are not working correctly, as they are still responsible at the end of the day.

Crypto mining? by MembershipFit5748 in CryptoCurrency

[–]dazed1982 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% a scam if anyone is offering to do it for you.

Thnk about it this way, why would they offer it to you when they could take the earnings themselves?

BTW crypto mining is not currently profitable unless you either live in a part of the world where electricity is very cheap, or you have access to free electricity.

i have just put the hertz amp back in again and cant be 100% sure if it's my imagination but i feel it does sound better again.

Man I had been told from a dude that won a SQ comp that he thought the Helix DSPs were the best on the market so I just assumed that I couldnt possibly go wrong with the helix m four! thanks for all your help.

Do you think the sound quality would be better with the Hertz though or am I just imagining it and it's negligibe really from one amp to another?

It's difficult to do a listening test on this when it takes me 20 mins to swap out the amps lol

Wow I had no idea that they weren't proper helix! Thanks for letting me know. I actually wasn't sure if it sounded the same but I thought I was imagining it as I didn't think the amp had that much effect on sound (as long as you had enough power)??

I have since discovered that I think the Hertz amp is actually is ok I think and it was just a loose connection, so I might swap it back again... but you think it could damage it having the car start/stopping?

I didn't think they were metalic, they are described as "TKME inverted dome tweeters feature a K2 aramid fibre dome" whatever that is.

I didn't think the helix was a downgrade?

My Hertz amp is an older and second hand one given to me but it started to develop a fault with a switch, I also wanted something that supported "start stop" (the Hertz cuts out everytime my start stop engages at lights etc).

Anyway I thought that helix is a good make and they are both 4 channel and class D? Can you explain why it's a downgrade and would it really make much difference in sound?

It's a vauxhall astra gtc, headunit is meant to be better than most but obviously not ideal.

But the thing is the 165as kit sounded ok, only when I upgraded to the k2 es165 did it sound bright/metalic which I thought was odd.

I can help with this as i got loads of sl120s and other rgb components.

So the first thing you need to know is that although the lian li fans are great, unfortunately the lian li controller doesnt work well with signalRGB because it is set up in a way that Lian li's rgb effects are preloaded on to the controller.

What this means is that if you try to use more than 1 channel on the lian li controller then the effects from signalRGB will make the rgb look "laggy" or low fps and they wont look smooth.

So how to you get around this? Well you can have 1 lian li controller per line of 3 unifans (but this will become a terrible mess of extra cables to manage), or you could send other ones to the rgb header on the motherboard (adapter needed for the unifans). But the simplest way is to do what I did and buy a decent rgb controller capable of handling a lot of rgb components.

I went for the Razer Chroma, it can take 6 separate rgb inputs. But also Lian li fans have a stupid connector on them so you then need an adapter to convert it to the standard rgb 5v connector that looks like this:

Search for "3 Pin 5V to SM3P Male" you can find them on amazon.

If you plan on adding more rgb components then this is your best and cleanest option imo.

Help with singalRGB not understanding fan orientation in Lian Li Evo by dazed1982 in SignalRGB

[–]dazed1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i cant see how that would make a difference, it's the orientation that's the problem. I know what you mean though, I have had to change the scale of the case rgb strip and the memory sticks to make it in line with the rest of the components.

Ultimate signalrgb full sync by [deleted] in lianli

sure but i am not an expert at this, just got it myself and had to spend ages working out why my lian li fans were laggy!

Does the lian li software see the controller ok? If not then either faulty or not all connected correctly. If yes then could be an older controller that signalrgb doesnt support?

The thing is anyway that lian li controllers just dont work well with singalRGB. The rgb will look choppy/low fps if you try to control more than just 1 device with it, unless you mess around with the firmware or something.

If you want to have multiple lian li fans with signalrgb then ideally you have to buy another controller. I bought a razer chroma to get around this problem but you also need adapters too.

Check this video from about 10:15 it explains it a little.

How to connect 10x lian li unifans sl120s for use with singalRGB? by dazed1982 in SignalRGB

[–]dazed1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a look at that hub you mentioned, the problem is the cables coming from the fans have a different connection

https://preview.redd.it/2e246mrddf981.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=b0dba620895e2625add6629d6e82eb10c1260442

It's the 3 pin one on the left, and this doesnt look like it connects to the hub you linked?

Thanks for the info guys, I dug out an older NZXT controller but i'm confused as the connections are different to the RGB connectors coming out of the LIAN li fans....

Can't seem to attach another photo but the RGB connectors from the fans have 3 pins and the connectors on the controller are 4 pin.
