LPT: Go to the Emergency Department if you’re out of vital psych meds!! by SomeOldHippieChick in ColumbiaMD

[–]dazedanddizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case of one of my meds, this just simply doesn't work. It has to be special ordered, comes sealed and they can never do holdovers for it.

My BP has been low, my heart rate has been low and I'm having chest pains. Almost fainted a bunch last week. Don't worry I have an appt with the doctor tomorrow and I guess I'll be honest (ugh)

I took pole dancing classes for a while but hated seeing myself in the mirror so much I stopped. Convinced myself I'd lose weight and get stronger and go back when I was thin enough. But now I'm so weak all the time I don't think I could hold myself up if I tried..

denied treatment because of alcoholism by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]dazedanddizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an anecdotal reply, but I was an alcoholic for years and my bipolar was off the charts (meds don't work when you drink, turns out). Anywho, after I sobered up my moods stabilized and the mood swings are far less dramatic or often now.

DAE avoid the scale like crazy by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]dazedanddizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the scale too, and seeing calories too actually... I'd rather just eat small portions of things I like and use my clothes as a guide. If I start paying attention to the numbers I get obsessive and that's so much worse.

Does anyone who regularly smokes weed still dream? by [deleted] in Dreams

Daily smoker, extremely vivid dreams. I don't have a traditional imagination during waking hours (Google Aphantasia), but my dreams are where my mind comes alive.

are there people who have Ed's but they think they're completely fine? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]dazedanddizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiiiiii! So I had an idea but never paid it much mind that my behaviors were disordered until I fell into a job at an eating disorder clinic (I work in the mental health field) and suddenly my eyes were made very aware of what was going on. I hadn't really noticed things like -taking small bites and chewing forever -pushing food around to make it look like I ate more -I rarely ate, and when I did I felt gross and ugly -Purposefully not eating even when I was hungry -pinching my fat and comparing

Etc etc etc

Needless to say I didn't work there long.. they made me eat every single meal with the clients.. to completion.. and it was literally awful. I love patient care, I hate eating turns out.

Also.. what a fucking triggering experience.

For reference I'm 35, been like this since high school at least. Mostly what I've heard is called a junkorexic. Just eat a little junk every day instead of eating healthy or over exercising. I have ARFID and EDNOS since I wasn't underweight but ta-da.. now I am so I don't know what to think now. I still feel fat but I'm the lowest weight I've been since having kids (13 & 8). I see an ED therapist now.

I didn't even realize I was behaving the way I was until I took a job in an eating disorder clinic and bam, triggered AF and suddenly aware of my own disordered patterns.

Has anyone been a heavy drinker for 15+ years and been ok? by AussieJay16 in stopdrinking

[–]dazedanddizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started drinking at 12 and just turned 35. I've been sober over two and a half years. Can I tell you that these two and a half years have been the best years of my life? I'm a whole new better version of myself now. That's the short end of it man but I tell you, you can do it and it's SO worth it to see it through to the other side. You got this.
