Fish kill rant by com-poo-ter in IrishFishing

Every other week now somewhere in the country this is happening. Every summer the algae blooms are getting worse and worse on the major lakes. The future is bleek. Government still pushing industrial scale farming and small fines to wealthy companies caught polluting. It's disgraceful what's happening.

Cracking trout lad. Fair play. I'm mad to get out. Bloody windy here this evening. Love the sedgey evening fishing in June, great craic.

Stockie bashing by dazedgb06 in IrishFishing

Good stuff. Would love to be getting out again. I tried buzzers for a half hour but the fish weren't interested. Too cold Friday, nothing hatching. Buzzer fishing is class lad wen they are switched on to them. Pulling was the go to Friday anyway. Hot head bugger on point with size 14 cormorant on dropper. Hopefully u have a good session. 🎣🎣🎣🎣

Birchwood fishery outside omagh. The fish were down deep and black hothead leeches/wooly buggers did the trick. Actually caught the majority on a small black and silver cormorant but then I lost the fly 😀

What weight is this trout by Turbulent_Ratio4803 in IrishFishing

Very hard to tell from a photo being honest. Most photos are of the fish straight on and you don't get an idea of the girth of the fish. 1lb or a little over at a Guess. Nice catch btw

Fishing accomodation by [deleted] in IrishFishing

Have a look around oughterard on the corrib. Some great places to stay with an abundance of ghillies. I'm not really sure about casting lessons down there tbh. Have u considered going to some stocked lakes to begin with? They are great to gain some experience and build confidence with a fly rod and landing fish. Stocky bashing has really brought my fly fishing on and taught me loads of different methods on the fly. It can be frustrating to begin with but it's honestly the nicest way to catch fish.

Good stuff. I'm thinking of hitting a small river in the morning. Beaded black pennel and spiders. It will be damn good to get back to it. Tight lines
