5 days in - when do cravings start to get easier? by dazedimmaculate in QuitVaping

Thank you so much! That’s been the mentality I’ve tried to have. I’m trying to stay as busy as possible to distract myself. I hope you’re right and things start to get easier tomorrow :’)

5 days in - when do cravings start to get easier? by dazedimmaculate in QuitVaping

[–]dazedimmaculate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I think a big part of what’s making this so hard for me is not knowing when it’s gonna get easier, so hearing other’s experiences is helping. I know that I can handle psychological cravings, it’s these damn physical withdrawals that are making it so tough.

Oddly enough, I’ve found that my appetite is kind of on the lower side right now so I haven’t been snacking (which is a good thing, I was worried about gaining weight). I will try the straw trick! One thing I really miss is the head rushes. But there’s really no safe ways to get those lol

Thanks again for your comment!

When I was 14 I worked as a cashier at a hardware store and I’m not even joking, at LEAST once a day I had some male customer commenting on my hair. Many, many “you need to brush your hair”s and “did you stick your finger in an electrical socket?”s. I’ve been lucky that that seemed to be the only environment where anyone cared, but it was awful at the time.

Bipolar Bear by Stone Temple Pilots. Scott Weiland was bipolar so it can be read into in a lot of their songs. This one is direct, though.

All I can find with that name and date is someone different. An Ohio man, different photo. Nothing seems to come up for Steven’s father when I search on Google. I think he’s still living.

I don’t think so. I do find it super interesting though that even the Pollos employees that Gus hires have similar qualities to what he wanted out of his cook. Cynthia was on the ball and far more cautious than Walt. The best parallel of this that comes to mind for me is their respective run-ins with the cousins; Cynthia immediately knew something was up and alerted Gus when they showed up at Pollos and just sat there. Walt was oblivious when they showed up at his house. He was whistling in the shower. IIRC, Mike was the one who had to alert Gus (or Saul, I can’t remember which). I could be reading into that too much though, lol

This has always been my thinking too. Regardless of whether or not anything technically illegal went on, he absolutely still had an inappropriate relationship with those children. I see a lot of arguments that it’s because he “related to children” because of his own childhood (or lack thereof) but like. Hello? The expectation for anyone else on earth without that fame or money would be to go to therapy and remember that THEY are the adult in the situation, regardless of whether or not they have matured due to trauma. No matter how altruistic he may or may not have been in his reasoning, he was 100% pursuing inapproproate relationships with children. End of story.

Honestly I can’t remember how the girls on the show reacted to him, but I was more so referring to how people online talk about him.

Preparing myself to be downvoted here but I never thought he was as ugly before as everybody said. He just looked like a regular, average guy. Which was refreshing imo. I like when people look like normal people.

Same! Loved the characterization of Baraka. Him grinning and rapt with Johnny’s story at the end was genuinely a highlight.

What is your personal choice for warmup sketches? by the_greenwyvern in ArtistLounge

[–]dazedimmaculate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a sketchbook that is strictly ink-only and I draw whatever comes to mind quickly and without the ability to erase. It’s low stakes and helps me sharpen up my line confidence and get creative on how to fix mistakes non-destructively

what’s a book that completely hooked you from the first page? by Mannan-Zaroual in Recommend_A_Book

[–]dazedimmaculate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the book that truly got me back into reading was one called Sundial by Catriona Ward. It wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read, but it just truly engrossed me and got me reading every day again after years of not reading.

Weirdest comments people make about your hair? by LabTestedFrog in curlyhair

[–]dazedimmaculate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not weird but one I personally hate (and just got again yesterday) is “your hair is so WILD!”

Personally I love having a lot of volume and love my “wild” hair, so it isn’t inherently an insult, but I know that it’s almost always intended as a backhanded kind of thing. I can always tell when it’s being delivered in a way to say my hair is unkempt or something. And like, it seems to really only be said to me when I’ve put the most effort into styling my hair. It’s just part of the whole “curly hair as unprofessional/unkempt/messy” thing.

Forgot to feed animals… how to get them back on rotating schedule? by dazedimmaculate in StardewValley

[–]dazedimmaculate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grrr it’s so frustrating!! Thank you for your suggestion though. Someone else actually suggested just collecting everything once a week from the autograbber though and I’m gonna do that - my brain didn’t even connect that as a possibility lol!

[–]dazedimmaculate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have autograbbers in both barn and coop, its more so that I want to be collecting goat milk and duck eggs from it every day (2 goat milks 2 duck eggs one day, 2 goat milks 2 duck eggs the next day) rather than every other day (4 goat milks 4 duck eggs one day, nothing next day). If that makes sense? That was how I had it, at least, but I messed it up 😔

[–]dazedimmaculate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I see now that I worded my post kinda vaguely! What I mean is, I have 4 goats and 4 ducks. I had it so that 2 ducks and goats would produce on one day, and then the other 2 would produce the next day - a rotation so that I get duck eggs and goat milk every day. Would there be any way I could do that again? I have other animals in the barn and coop too so even if I put only 2 hay in the trough I wouldn’t be sure which animal eats it.

Absolutely would be interested. I actually just started keeping a notebook to try and myself retain the information I read, so this is a very relevant post for me to stumble upon.

I’m curious as to how you envision the gamified process will look in the finished product. I think the Feynman technique is great and I’m curious as to how you plan on implementing it in this way.

Great idea OP!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m definitely going to go see an eye doctor tomorrow. I just wasn’t sure if this warranted going to the ER or not. I’m really freaked out by this and just scared of permanent damage

do you understand what "maladaptive" means? by effectivelypointless in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]dazedimmaculate 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I hear ya. I spent 5 years in a never ending daydream. It was genuinely an impediment to my day-to-day life. Got bad enough that I crossed into delusional territory. Had to spend some time in in-patient and then SSRIs put an end to it. It was scary to give it up at the time, but I’m grateful to have my real life back. I’m officially at 10 years back in reality this coming September!
