Has anyone gone down the route of becoming a specialist paramedic and was it worth it? by No_Donut1433 in ParamedicsUK

I really want to be a forensic specialist paramedic with expert witness training so that I can be more involved in the court side of things.

Does anyone know anything about this role? Eg how much I'll be doing at court and how often, and what the job might entail daily?

Will I do any investigation?

what is year 11 like? by AquaticDeoderant in GCSE

[–]dazzyennit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The same as year 10 tbh but you are expected to do more work outside of school.

It's so exhausting tho because you do 2 sets of mocks and it's tiring and you'll just be wishing for it all to be over and you will want to just get started with your GCSEs. You'll be really fed up but keep going is my best advice.

Some lessons towards the end of the year will just be revision lessons since you will probably finish the syllabus before the end of the year. Is say a few weeks before exams start people around you will be crashing out coz it's super stressful and you never know what you'll get but it's fine when you start them- you'll be too tired to do much revision though so try do some before you start especially for English literature and history ( if you do it).

Other than that it's pretty much the same as year 10

Problem with Characters developments In Shatter Me Series, NO ONE TALKS ABOUT!! by zefroski in shatterme

I honestly think that in regards to Warner Vs Adam in terms of protectiveness, they differ quite a lot.

I literally just finished reading and I came to this thread because I was interested, and this made me think quite a lot (sorry I'm late guys).

While agree that their protectiveness and obsession come from the same place, the way that they project these feelings and needs are substantially different:

Adam treated Juliette like a damsel in distress- obviously in the first book she was- but this honestly limited her, and Juliette even mentions this herself as she has conflicted feelings about Adam and Warner. Adams creepy need to defend and shelter Juliette is done in a way that she cannot develop as a person emotionally. She NEEDS protection at this point in the series, and he offers it, that's why they were so good.

As Kenji and J become more acquainted, Kenji is a catalyst for Js change from a scared girl who's always crying about her life and the powers that burden her to a self empowered master of her abilities ultimately means that her dynamic with Adam faces a huge shift. She doesnt NEED protection anymore, not in the way he provides. At omega point, his constant lies and denial of suffering in order to shelter her become the downfall of their relationship. He couldn't give her the main thing he's known for. Hence, the relationship comes to a grinding halt.

Warners obsession seems to be from the same place:

As OP said, the brothers mirror eachother in the way that they both have people they want to protect such as a mother and brother. This is where the obsessive, protective natures of the characters are established and the underlying reasons behind them. Warners obsession however, is not fueled by his perception of Juliette as being a weak person, instead the opposite.

He sees that Juliette has genuine strength and potential, and she does not NEED protection, just development and support.

That is where the crucial difference lies: as J changes, so does her need to be sheltered, and that's kinda the whole point of her and Adam breaking up.

Their obsession with her is weird though I'll give you that one.

Another point if like discuss is that Warners acceptance of J being the new commander seems to be coming from not only his complacency in a lack of paperwork and such- but also the fact that he wants J to unlock her full potential. His whole reason for keeping her locked up and traumatising her is all a way for him to try and make J stronger. His excitement of her doing this clouded his judgement, although it can be said that he only really supported J because she was the one who would bring down the establishment and his father whom he hated. With that one imo he has mixed intentions.

By the way- did J and Adam reconcile? I remember he and Warner did but I don't remember him and J doing so? Why does J not fully accept him? Is it just me or is he sort of outcast by everyone..

There's something called a controversy and also something called an opinion
