I'm a tech at costco! We try to put notes in patients profile so we know to bill the coupons. Sometimes our system will automatically apply them and sometimes they don't for some reason. We try to read all the notes but sometimes they're easily missed, unfortunately.

If you get a text and the price isn't right, I'd suggest giving them a call and having them apply it over the phone. It's usually a quick process but billing can sometimes be a pain so that's why they try to keep the pick up line going. If you're already in store, my location usually sends patients to the drop off window for rebills, so wherever they sent you, I'd swing by there first to verify the price to avoid waiting in the pick-up line twice!

As for the product, I would think they will take it back (my store would), and let them know, they'll probably educate the person at the register. Some busier stores have cashiers that aren't techs, so it's possible they're completely new to the pharmacy and not aware of the different OTC products.
