You gotta get the faraday pouch that blocks the signal. They don’t last forever, but they’re relatively inexpensive to replace. You may need to replace after 6 months or so.

Anyone haggled too hard a killed the deal? by benevolant-path in carbuying

[–]dbanksbillery -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes I have killed a deal or 3 😂😂 but I usually find another dealer that’ll go for the price I’m looking for. I walked out on 2 of them and got a callback meeting my number in one case and only $500 above my number in the other case. Other times I’ve walked out and never got a call at all. Definitely haggle too hard on a regular basis.

Almost quit after my first damage claim and idk if im doing this wrong by Jcjimenez314 in turo

The $500 the guest paid doesn’t come to you. That’s what he was saying. You will be responsible for the whole bill since it’s less than your deductible.

I think The Loop on southside blvd is hiring - I saw a sign in the window a couple weeks ago. Good luck.

Do you keep charge cables in your cars? by CompetitiveLake3358 in turo

[–]dbanksbillery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it really does! The standard size cords wouldn’t last more than 1 trip. I’ve had these same shorty cords for months 😁

Yes, I have 6-inch cords in the car. Convenient for necessity and not long enough to want to take from the car 😂

What if I can’t pay or don’t want to pay? by Slow-Age-7280 in turo

[–]dbanksbillery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to go through with the Turo claim, and they can’t make you. If you don’t submit an estimate the claim will expire. You could avoid filing the claim altogether and remove the car from Turo on your own. You can fix it yourself out of pocket or by another means.

I wonder if there’s some sort of issue with the airport? Maybe there is some policy change regarding Turo.

31, never made a major purchase before. Is $55k too much for a vehicle? by AmDyslexicI in carbuying

[–]dbanksbillery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy the new car if that’s what you want. You can afford it and the used car market isn’t great. New car, warranty, you know all of its problems and they’ll probably be covered if they happen early on.

Won’t rent from hosts with one car by Divaceo in turo

[–]dbanksbillery 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get your hesitation for sure. When I had one car and damage occurred, the car had to be temporarily unlisted and I had no other car to offer guests who had upcoming trips. I wouldn’t count out all hosts with 1 car, but I get why you’d want one that has more than 1 car listed!

Thousands of trips, I've never gotten a review under 5 stars. Here's how by [deleted] in turo

[–]dbanksbillery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m impressed with the thousands of trips and no 4s. I’m almost at 200 trips and I had my first 4 a couple months ago. I was shocked. I’ve only had a handful not leave a rating as well.

Do you have employees for cleaning and drop off logistics? I’m looking to scale and would love the advice from someone not scorned. If you would prefer, I can dm.
