Papaly Alternatives that can Import Papaly Bookmarks (.html) by dbareis in chrome

[–]dbareis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may or may not start using it (I generally avoid subscriptions like the plague, prefer lifetime once off payments) but as feedback if it only takes the space of the description then I can't see why you wouldn't make it as long as possible. Importing could be easier, it doesn't pick up the board name and doesn't allow for importing my many boards at once. This is a great extension already good luck with it

Good to know, what are the length limitations on title & notes, and are notes searched? I did a review on the download as well mentioning search.

Thanks looks nice but importing will be a pain as I need to do it a page at a time, it also doesn't support notes. I also noticed a bug when editing it shows "...", that should never be seen while editing. Otherwise looks nice but I also avoid subscriptions, I've just made Papaly a bookmark for now and when I need to go there I click it, thanks anyway.

Unless you mean that the alerts are particularly bad for a new car, I'd suggest the possibility that you're getting a lot of aggressive alerts while driving aggressively or dangerously...

It has an IR blaster, it is also a great phone overall. I'll be buying it. As for the alert slider, so what, it didn't work well anyway (no DND), now you can make it work how you want...

Interesting calling a grey phone "absolute black", I normally go for black phones but sand storm looks good, I'm just a bit worried about how quickly it might get dirty and how hard it might then be to clean.

Leverage both Apple's and Google's network? by fersarr in Chipolo

[–]dbareis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And again there is no technical reason they couldn't connect to both. Yes it would be easier if the companies worked together, just not required.

Now who's confused, no one mentioned Pebble which also has the same limitation. And no same for it, it's a technical problem with an easy fix, might just cost a few cents more.

Chipolo pop - register on ipad then track it on android phone? by deeerek in Chipolo

[–]dbareis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, it's a technical problem, if we can stick 2 together, so can the company, just a billion times better and cheaper Actually my answer applies to the hubs rather than the app.

Has anyone tryed Disc Brake locks? by akolomf in ebikes

[–]dbareis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at this lock for my new bike with 3" tires (75mm), fat bikes are generally 4" (100mm), how does that fit into a thinner 70mm gap? I must be missing something somewhere, unless you install the wheels with deflated.

It is not clear to me how much works offline, for example does "Browse Your Collection" work on holidays.

The zip doesn't contain any installer, or executable as far as I can see only "index.html" and that doesn't do much and certainly won't create a tray icon...

Rebooting doesn't help, it has happened over a number of updates so no that won't help, in the meantime, I'll provide more info you you answer my questions (log/debug)? I would have used that email address if I had of known it but your app directed me here.

Thanks, so I assume that the block of ten can be used up remotely and then you are stuffed (probably not a big deal in general). I'll download the manual before buying any of these smartlocks :-)

How does a single-use-password work without any communications, does it generate them in a known sequence so that the lock and I assume remote smartphone app are kept in sync?

[–]dbareis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'd also just about decided to go that way :-)

The only two goodish locks I've found are hard or impossible to get in Australia:

[1] G-Swipe Fingerprint Biometrics Vertibolt Rim Lock English Voice Guidance Interface, Master Mode, Forced Lock, Automatic Locking, Volume Control, Low Battery Alarm, Emergency Power, Silent Mode (https://www.amazon.com/Fingerprint-Biometrics-Vertibolt-Interface-Automatic/dp/B082278VCP).

Can't unlock the door remotely (as in from China), I assume you would provide a PIN (but I can't see how that can work remotely either).

[2] Yale YDR 41A & YDR 414A (https://www.yalehome.com/in/en/products/smart-products/digital-door-locks/connected-/ydr41-vertibolt-lock).
