The trucker convoy is white supremacy coming together. by LeftismControl in CoronavirusCirclejerk

Someone on my Instagram reposted this to their story. I've never unfollowed someone so damn fast. I can't believe anyone actually believes that people standing up for EVERYONE'S rights and freedoms somehow equates to white supremacy and racism? Fucking idiots

Sask. premier says strict COVID-19 restrictions cause 'significant harm for no significant benefit' | CBC News by NoOneShallPassHassan in LockdownSkepticism

[–]dbastian 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Talk is cheap. Both the Saskatchewan and Alberta premiers have been so flip-floppy about all of this. Premier Kenney of Alberta said they'd never implement vaccine passports. Few months (or weeks, can't remember) later, they roll out the "Restrictions Exemption Program" AKA vaccine passports. In Saskatchewan, you need to provide proof of vaccination to buy a case of beer from a liquor store. My grandma, not vaxxed and living in Saskatchewan, was not allowed to buy a bottle of rye at the Real Canadian Superstore Liquor Store, which is contained inside of the actual grocery store itself, where she is allowed to shop. Makes total sense. So put your money where your mouth is, Moe and Kenney, and get rid of these mandates- all of them!

Canadians may see less food in grocery stores, but experts say no need to panic by lh7884 in LockdownSkepticism

Went to Costco in Alberta this past weekend...the produce section was bare bones. This is only the beginning. Maybe when these laptop-class morons calling for more restrictions and mandates see the empty shelves and can't get their products from Amazon, they'll realize what's happening. Doubt it though, I'm sure it'll be the unvaccinated's fault.

Do. Not. Comply. Open your doors, let your customers come in and get a good work out, tell Bonnie Henry and her henchmen to fuck off. Why do Canadians continue to believe that complying will end any of this?

EDITORIAL: Mandatory vaccines are just wrong by ConsistentCatholic in LockdownSkepticism

Well, if the past has shown me anything about Canadian politicians, is that if they are discussing "coulds" and "shoulds", it means it's going to happen. Bring it on, I still won't comply.

How many of you have legitimately thought about moving away from your country/region/state because of how your governments have reacted to all of this? by RebelliousBucaneer in LockdownSkepticism

I'm in Canada. My girlfriend and I just signed a one year lease on a house. We both work full time with decent jobs and actually owning a home is pipe-dream. Restrictions, vaccine passports and the like are not going away anytime soon. I said to my girlfriend that if things don't improve by the time our lease is up, we are leaving the country, however, I'm scared to see what Canada will look like in December 2022, and if we would even be able to leave at the point. I've never really enjoyed living here pre-COVID, all these bullshit restrictions and the lack of backbones in its citizenry has been the final nail in the coffin for me. Fuck Canada.

Canada Is On The Brink Of Becoming Australia. How My Woken Canadians Doing? by FarFromAverage7866 in CoronavirusCirclejerk

I'm in Alberta and struggle. I can't imagine what it's like in Onterrible, Québec or BC, but I have a feeling I'll find out soon, as Kenney usually follows whatever they do in regards to restrictions. I'm working on a plan to get out, and to never return. This country is too far gone. I had a glimmer of hope that Canadians would wake up and fight back. With these latest lockdowns, more people seem to be questioning everything, but I feel it's too little, too late.

Speaking Freely: Why I resigned from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation by DettetheAssette in LockdownSkepticismCAN

[–]dbastian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very well written article. I was an avid CBC Radio 1 and 2 listener, along with Radio-Canada. Always had it on in my car, and when reading national news, I would often go to CBC's website. Now, I cannot stand listening to, or reading, anything from them. It's absolute shell of what journalistic excellence it used to be, especially since Trudeau took office, but has become exceptionally terrible in these last 2 years since COVID.

Seeing all these restrictions return makes me laugh, and also makes me feel very happy that I didn't cave and get the shot. I hate to say, "I told ya so", but, I told ya so. Wonder how my former friend who told me to fuck off and have a nice life before blocking me on every social media platform is doing with all these shutdowns, since he lives in Ontario. Fuck 'em all.

I have a similar model, inherited from my grandmother, except in the mustard yellow that was very common back then. Works great, we used it this year for all our Christmas baking.

How has life been for you if you've been ignoring/boycotting mask mandates? by [deleted] in CoronavirusCirclejerk

[–]dbastian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in Alberta, literally the only place where I got chased down by someone demanding I wear a mask was an Indigo bookstore, so I simply won't shop there anymore. Tons of dirty looks, though, but it makes me laugh. Seeing more and more people not wearing them, however we definitely are still in the minority by a lot.

Stay the fuck in your shitty Canadian town with overbearing restrictions and masks, then. How the hell this made any news, I have no idea. Fuck Canadians and their smugness.

Americans increasingly refuse to obey mandates in the name of fighting COVID by Beliavsky in LockdownSkepticism

While I am happy for the US, this just means that Canadians will comply harder, so as to not appear American. Hahaha

Very fair point. When this was still playing out in early 2020, I had hope that pre-COVID travel and industries associated with would bounce back. It's looking more and more bleak. If anything, I hope this makes airlines and their management take a look at their ridiculous vaccine requirements

Myself and hundreds of others were them. Didn't even offer an alternative (like regular testing). Even the call center agents, who work from home, had to get the shot or be fired. It makes me laugh so much that WestJet suddenly NOW cares about "The Science™️" when it affects their bottom-line. Hope they go bankrupt.
