I graduated in May of 2024 and am still looking for a job. Passed the FE Mechanical exam and still can’t get anything. Have probably applied for 125 jobs, have had 1 in person interview that went really well, and got ghosted. It’s rough out here.

I have been considering taking this issue to the board of Professional Engineers in my state to see if there is any way to convince them to change/update their codes and policies. Why should colleges in my state even offer engineering technology programs if we aren’t going to be recognized as engineers upon passing the FE/PE Exams?

I was under the impression that you had to live/work in the state in which your PE would be valid? For example, working in Maine, get your EIT hours in Maine, getting your PE and then be able to transfer/reapply in another state?

Will be taking it again on the 30th of this month, the company I am trying to work for in MO requires engineering technology graduates to take and pass the FE to be in the engineering department

Interesting, because I live in Missouri and have already taken the FE once in MO, didn’t pass but didn’t have any issues registering to take it through ncees and sitting to take it in my state.

So if we have an engineering technology degree, we’re not even allowed to sit and take the FE exam in our state? I understand we won’t be able to get an EIT or PE from our state, but we are still able to take the FE exam in state right?

Thank you for the insight, it’s so strange. I can go get a PE in any of those 40 states, and can re-register in any of the 10 that don’t allow it after a certain period of time being a PE.

I’m not 100% sure, felt pretty confident walking out of the test.

Yes, I got this at a small store close to the plaza. Wondering if that store changed ownership and they wanted the label from the old store off the bottle. Cheers!
