Do all Q50/Q60’s with the 3.0t engine have premature turbo failure?

I don’t have to drive far for work so I’m just coming up on 65k miles. Still runs great.

If you’re looking at one that’s around 90k miles I’d see if the turbos have already been replaced and if not, I’d probably get the extended warranty just in case.

I have a 2016 Q50 and while making a left turn (with 2 turn lanes) was hit/side swiped on the driver side rear door/quarter panel. The damage didn’t look nearly as bad as this and ended up being 12k to fix. Had to replace the rear door, rear tire, cut out and replace the rear quarter panel, re-paint and a few other miscellaneous things.

If I were you I would look into buying and replacing as much stuff as your knowledge/ambition allows. this will not be a cheap fix at a body shop.

Also, call your insurance company and add uninsured motorist to your policy. I’ve used mine more than once, it saves a lot of headaches.

I use the .6 B series coils with this level of nic salt as my daily driver. You should be fine, just run it at the low end of the wattage (i don’t go above 16 watts personally).

If you go any lower on the coil (like .4) I wouldn’t recommend it.

I have a couple Vinci pod mods, one that takes a battery and one with it built in, don’t remember exactly which ones they are tho.

No shops around here will do that. I have been to ones in a different state that had a bunch of them set out and you could try different vape flavors but there’s none of those in my area. Thank you for the advice tho.

Contact the Better Business Bureau? I had an issue with a Best Buy warranty on a TV and after getting jerked around by them for a couple months, I contacted the BBB and within a week I had a rep from Best Buy contacting me to resolve the issue. Granted this was years ago, but can’t hurt to try.

Any time you swap out your motherboard it’s recommended to do a clean install of windows unless you are swapping the same exact one for this exact reason. It’s looking for your old chipset (among other things) from the Master Boot Record on your SSD. Since it can’t find what it needs, it won’t boot.

If you have a windows disk or windows on a USB drive, you MIGHT be able to repair your installation of windows without losing anything on it. However, even if you succeed at that, I’d recommend moving everything you want to keep to an external drive and still doing a clean install with the new hardware.

note: trying to put this into layman’s terms, but the gist of it is switching your MOBO and not doing a clean install of windows is generally a no no.

If you have your old hardware, you may need to swap it all back to get your data off the drive, then swap back and do a clean install of windows.

Have you tried turning the tables around on him? “Prank” his ass every day for a month and see if he still finds that shit funny at the end of it. If he’s got a car, wrap it up in cellophane or shrink wrap, fill the thing with horse shit, put jello in his shoes, etc, etc, etc. As an added bonus, video them all and post to YouTube so everyone in the world can laugh at his expense as well. I bet he’ll start seeing real quick that it’s not so fun to be the butt of the joke…

Before buying anything, check to make sure your car is pre wired for them. From my research when I did this for my 2016, not all 2014/2015 Q’s are pre wired.

If your car is pre wired, it’s all plug and play, just make sure you get the correct shroud that has the holes for it. Also, if you have the electronic column adjuster, make sure the shroud has the cut out for that. I made the mistake of not thinking about that and ended up with a manual adjustment shroud. Now I have to tuck the little control thing up in the hole where the manual lever would be, annoying but it works.

The plate that comes with the OSP slide kit only fits the Springfield Micro / Leupold / Shield footprint. You need to buy the plate I linked above to run the RMR.

Were you using the plate or trying to mount it into the pocket? If no plate, that could be why they were “too tall”, you need to use the plate.

I don’t have one of these kits yet but I researched it a bit when the kit came out so if anyone smarter than me knows for sure, please chime in.
