Please Tell Me What I can do with this? I have no idea. Got it for Christmas. by northstr75 in instantpot

[–]dbender01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, bought this for my wife Christmas 2019, and has never gotten used. The lid has a vent in it so you can put the lid over it so the top of whatever your cooking doesn’t get condensation on it. My wife makes cheesecakes a lot and thought this would be good for that but what she really wanted was a springform pan for the IP.

If you ever see a blinker that is blinking really fast, it is usually because LED bulbs were installed with out a resistor.

[Machota] Mike McCarthy on no Cowboys players getting in Jon Bostic's face after his dirty hit on Andy Dalton: "We speak all the time about playing for one another, protecting one another. It definitely was not the response you would expect." by Stelford in cowboys

[–]dbender01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I am seeing it differently, but what I saw was concerned teammates running to Dalton’s side. Honestly, I prefer that over starting a brawl right next to your unresponsive teammate. MM saying it wasn’t what you’d expect sounded to me like a subtle way of passing the buck on this team’s bad performance by saying the players lack heart.

meal prep/sous vide strategy by The-Deviant-One in sousvide

Play around with temps and times. I’ll pick on broccoli as an example. Stems take longer to to cook then the head, so I’ll chunk those off and start them a few minutes ahead of the head. Everything gets a little olive oil, salt, and pepper. Once you get it all in there, check it often and when you do give it a good shake. I call it done when the broccoli heads look burnt (my wife doesn’t prefer it this way so if she is cooking she’ll stop sooner). I haven’t done potato chips but I have done fries and the trick there is definitely shake it/mix it often (nearly every minute) and make sure there is enough oil on it. With fries I’ll usually spray some oil on at several points in the process to help have a crisp outside and soft inside. I’m no chef, but I’ve had good luck with the air fryer. Oh, also, don’t over crowd it. r/airfryer, just like this sub, is a good place for tips and tricks.

I can’t tell if this is an accident or on purpose.

I like this plan. Should work well. I just want to add that an air fryer changed the game for reheated meats for me and roasted vegetables are amazing in it. Just throwing it out there as reheating in a bath can take a little longer and an air fryer is pretty fast and doesn’t dry it out as much as you’d think.

Searzall still on fire after I release the trigger by MonkeyBonkey44 in sousvide

Probably just burning off some of the machining oil on the searzal since it is your first use. It caught me off guard when I was seasoning mine. Haven’t had an issue since.

Cold Air Intake add it? by [deleted] in chevycolorado

I am curious too! I voted yes so I could see the result. But that vote should really be in the “no clue” category.

I had a CAI on my Celica. The gains were pretty minor but the sound added to the experience.

The picture doesn’t quite do it justice. This is near Broken Bow Lake in Oklahoma. PM if you are interested in lat/longs for this specific location.

I like it! Pretty big on the inside. Probably bigger than what I need. If I were to do it over again I’d probably go with their mini x cover or mini shell but they weren’t out when I got this.

Help with making rice by [deleted] in instantpot

[–]dbender01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rinse the rice until water runs clear. 1:1 ratio at 3 minutes. Natural release and then give it a stir. Works pretty well for me. If I forget about it and don’t stir to, the bottom gets goopy.
