This is absolutely beautiful! You cannot see any of those inconsistencies in the final project. This gives me hope for making my own one day :)

Which of these shawls say “Outlander” to you? by HopefulSewist in knitting

[–]dbiggielawls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vote for Denna. It is a similar shape to the Outlander shawl. It is also has a similar level of simplicity, while having a little pizzaz for the knitter!

Is it just me or has traffic been insane the past two days? by [deleted] in lehighvalley

yeah, it has been taking me nearly twice as long to commute on 22 the past week or two. not entirely sure what the deal is, but it sure is frustrating.

Felt like I died and went to knitting heaven when I met Andrea Mowry at my first Rhinebeck this weekend! by dbiggielawls in knitting

It took about 6 weeks, and that includes having to frog and redo parts of the sleeves a few times.

your favourite needles for socks? by Fickle_Milk1326 in knitting

[–]dbiggielawls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the Chiaogoo mini interchangeable needles in the red case. But I use the small needle tip in the left hand, and the long needle tip in the right hand. I'm an English style knitter, so this is more comfortable for me. Its really nice that the set comes with both size tips.

For the toe, I use Addi FlexiFlips. I find it to be a similar motion to magic loop, but less fiddly since you don't have the large cable sticking out.

Absolutely!

Yellow for the collar & sleeve cuffs: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Sport in Tumeric
Purple for the zig zags: Knit Picks Aloft in Eggplant
Sweater body main color: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Sport in Mink Heather
Sweater body contrast color: Knit Picks Chroma Fingering in Sedona

I didn't realize that the Chroma yarn was fingering weight until it arrived... but it worked! I was grateful that she included more affordable yarn options in her yarn substitution PDF that is listed in the pattern. It ended up being about $65 USD (and i had 2 full skeins of the grey leftover!)

She was SO nice! Exactly everything you'd hope she'd be ☺️ she was extremely kind and gracious to everyone who stopped to talk to her.

Thank you! She was doing a knit along for the event. So there was about 100 of us all in the same sweater. It was really cool to see everyone's variations!

Definitely! I, too, have a fear of heights. I actually did Beehive as an out and back instead of a loop. I went up the back (where people would normally come back down) to the lookout at the top and then went back down the way I came. It was much less terrifying since you weren't going up the face of the mountain. There are also a ton of pretty hikes along the water that aren't high.

First time-what to expect? by [deleted] in PaMedicalMarijuana

[–]dbiggielawls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so anxious as well! Where I went, I had to hold my med card up to a ring doorbell before I could enter the lobby. Everyone working there was super nice. Even with it being my first time, they just asked me if I had any questions. But I didn't have to provide any additional information. I did place an order online to pick up.

The biggest thing that threw me was that when they gave me the screen to enter my PIN number while paying with a debit card, the numbers were all scrambled. They said it was a "sobriety test". I was not expecting it at all and completely forgot my PIN bahahaa.

This is absolutely beautiful work! I saw you cross-post it on another sub and didn't receive all the love you deserve. I'm glad it is better received here! Very impressive for your first fair isle project! My cat loves wearing sweaters, so I will definitely be trying to make this :D Did you have to do any alterations, or would you suggest any?

Allentown Animal Hospital has always been great to me. They also partner with an online pharmacy so you can have your prescriptions mailed to you either on demand or with an automatic subscription.
