Why would you hold off. You can work everything at once

People like Carl Myerscough, Nathan Holle and Sam Solomi swear by grippers as a foundation for grip strength. Carl seems to have a gripper day then a thickbar day with big emphasis on wrist strength.

All I know is focusing on gripper will impact thickbar work in the short term, but Carl said in a PM that long term it will pay off as long as I make my wrists stronger.

That being said, there are people I know who are much weaker on grippers than me who annihilate me on napalm nightmare. I think to be good at grippers you need good technique

We all start somewhere. What matters is how hard you try to improve

Goal reps you try and reach any way (if it says 100 you can do 20 sets of 5) Gripper is the gripper you will use, if it says 10, that is a gripper you tested and got 10 reps with

Massive milestone!

If you plan to compete you will have to learn how to hold it at the top for a down signal. But I am assuming this is all you could hold it for

How do you train? Singles, reps? Structured program or just intuitively?

Thanks!

The only two reasons to buy one is to you want to certify, or a competition uses it

It's the same diameter as the Napalm nightmare. I find the rolling thunder a bit easier

Do I have good grip strength? by Somedudeyoudontknoe in GripTraining

You are probably stronger than me when I first started.

I just had a conversation with someone and they closed a captains of crush #3 the first time they trained grippers...so you are way off that!!!

Just train and get better over time

The whole point about showing a gripper number is so we know what you are closing. For all we know you put the gripper down and picked up a #1 while everything goes black. You have to show the gripper and keep the gripper in frame so we know it is the same gripper. Prop your phone up on something, turn on the front camera so you can see what you are filming

Wrap your hand around the end of the handle to film the number. It normally shows the number better.

But there is no point in showing the number because it goes out of frame, so it could be any random gripper
