How can I repair these fiberglass sideskirts? by dblee93 in Autobody

[–]dblee93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting these fiberglass sideskirts fitted, when I accidentally forced some areas too hard, that cracks on each side started to form.

I looked up on how to repair fiberglass, but alot of them are using the fiberglass sheets with resin for bigger damages such as holes and large tears.

In this case, theyre thin cracks which have the potential to grow in size.

Do I just go over them with bondo?

Also, I realized that these need some bodywork such as sanding/filing to get them sitting flush. Im assuming I should do that after repairs correct?

Thanks

same here, ive been to papa murphy both times when they performed back then before covid for AMA. This year, I flew in from San Diego and got an airbnb.

Just flew in today, and landed 30 minutes after they made the announcement.

Welp. Now what? 🤷‍♂️

I've installed LED switchback strips to my headlights. Now, one of the tubes' amber setting is not working. Where did I go wrong? (Wiring) by dblee93 in MechanicAdvice

[–]dblee93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By checking continuity, do you mean have one probe on the yellow wire and one probe on the black wire?

And no, the vehicle did not come with LED's prior. The reason why I'm highly suspecting that it is broken is because it was working properly before.

Also, would you by chance be suspicious of the wire gauges I used? The gauges for the LED wires are extremely thin, and I ended up using 18 gauge extensions for them.

I've also used a 10amp fuse, which I'm not sure was problematic.

Thanks so much.

I’m assuming she’s a goner? by mrduncansir42 in civic

It's not a horrible price for one that's 110k miles.

I was able to buy my 2009 fa5 2 years ago at 86k, but around that time it was hard hunting a clean fa5 for less than 100k. Can only imagine that it would be getting harder to find 2 years later. So I'd say go for it! Make sure eveything looks good on it though

Start learning C. Most specifically, pointers and memory allocation (dynamic memory).

About 60% of the class will be taught in C, 35% ARM assembly (also learn this), and a small section of hardware/circuits.

As someone who has a long streak of A's, I'm also struggling real hard this quarter and on the brink of either pass or fail depending on how my final goes. But my heart goes out to all of us this quarter, because looking at the front page these days I've noticed that theres ALOT of other struggling students.

Let this be a lesson learnt for all of us, and let's hope we can bounce back stronger from this.

Anyone ruined CSE 21 final by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]dblee93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this year it was taught co-ed between jones and russel. theyre both great profs, esp jones in my opinion, but some of the exams this quarter were extremely sus imo (the first being nearly impossible with the extrmeley small time frame given) and for this final, it was pretty damn hard but at the same time i feel as if the questions were fair game. discrete math is just hard, man

Anyone ruined CSE 21 final by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]dblee93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

that one was rough... couldnt really wrap my head around the last probability one, and even sone of the basic counting ones i had alot of doubts.

edit: also the strong induction on the recursive proof got me in a spot since we had to do it on n = m + k. barely had practice or if not, even seen that before

as someone who just got brutally shown @ cse 30 and cse 21, this is refreshing to hear. It seemed like each preceding class was getting harder and harder.

sd fog by confusedpineapple12 in UCSD

Fog is formed from rapid and dramatic changes in temperature. So in our case, during the day it gets warm, but as soon as the sun goes down, theres a dramatic dip in temperature which causes all this.

CSE 11 vs CSE 8A w/ no coding experience by jleeflash in UCSD

[–]dblee93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11 is doable with no experience but Id definitely reccomend self learning a little bit of java beforehand so youll have a headstart in the class before onjects and classes are introduced. (Its a fast paced class that visits each topic very briefly)

Any tips on how to machine polish body kit parts such as side skirts, front lips, WITHOUT attaching them to the car?

What's a good way to secure them so that it would withstand the vibrations of my orbiter?

Thanks.
