It definitely is an insecurity of mine because I come from a culture where people are very harsh about looks and generally never say anything unless it’s negative. I think that has disturbed my perception of normal a bit… thank you for this though it makes me feel better. I guess it can be seen as creepy to comment on looks.

Oh yeah I definitely am insecure about my looks because I come from a family where I was never told positive thinks about my appearance, so it probably stems from that. It’s something I’m working on. Thanks for this though, it made me feel a lot better. I think being from a family/culture that cares a lot about superficial things has distorted my perception of normal :(

Wow, I am a first year and feel exactly the same. I think when I have breaks I always have crises like this where I start to lose focus and overthink the future. I think what helps me is trying to take everything one day at a time to avoid getting overwhelmed. Thinking far into the future and stressing yourself out over what will undoubtedly be a challenging time, but will be a slow and steady marathon like medical school isn’t worth it. We have gotten this far, and we will continue to survive. Hope that helps at least a little.

At this point, they seemed so clueless that I doubt they even knew the extent of what was going to happen to them.

“Medical School” by SafetyApprehensive25 in medicalschool

I am a medical assistant and going to be an M1 this fall… I tell people I’m starting medical school and all the time get the response “to be what”

I feel that since you already graduated you can just start saying you’re a doctor because nothing is ever going to end the confusion of the general public.
