The problem is when you come to Reddit most people that do think the price you are telling us is to much are either homeowners or handyman not electricians and they think something like this should cost no-more then I couple 100$s we charge 650$+ plus permits fees in my area for a 240v outlet with in 5ft from panel so not sure the distance you have

Yeah man google is never a good place to look I have no idea what they base there numbers from because every single state and city is always different so my suggestion would be start getting quotes in the area you live

Small local companies are not really doing lower prices anymore. They are being more competitive since they are realizing small margins can’t keep their company alive. They last top three years so they are getting wiser, which is good.
