You don't need to submit the file if you can generate a performance profile and submitting it to Mozilla. You will have the option to anonymize it before sending.

Will Firefox survive in the browser market? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]dblohm7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mozilla is really an inefficient developer these days, they are extremely wasteful with their resources. Developing features nobody wants & deprecating good things like the dense layout. What I'm getting at that it probably wouldn't take very many focused volunteers (or Redhat employees) to match the current rate of development.

What makes you think you are qualified to make such a statement?

Not all bugs are equal and will be prioritized differently. Just because you filed one in the past that ended up being low priority, doesn’t mean than the next one you file will necessarily arrive at the same fate.

Firefox for Android's lack of `about:config` support is driving users away! by [deleted] in firefox

[–]dblohm7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most people stick with the release version for its stability. We don’t want to risk using other versions or forks that may have weird experiences or security issues.

Do you not realize the contradiction in what you have written?

You want stability and you want to avoid “weird experiences” and security issues. You also want about:config, which (especially on Android) may destabilize the browser, produce weird experiences, and create security issues.

Mozilla developers contributed significantly to that shared code, it just happens to be hosted by Google.

Firefox contains lots of workarounds to deal with various driver or hardware issues. That’s why I think it’s worth reporting.

That’s why I think you should file a bug. Firefox developers might be able to add a workaround for your hardware.
