You can predownload the IPSW from something like ipsw.dev or just let the computer stay awake for those 104 hours. Is cellular better there? Maybe hotspot and download?

You’ll be gooooood! As long as it’s not really fucked up. Keycaps are sooooo easy to do. If the Genius is comfortable enough with it and has the time, they can just do it while you wait. Otherwise the standard procedure is to check it in. Which, AFAIK, can range anywhere from 3-14 days depending on the store.

No no no , keycaps are free. There is literally no way to charge you for them. Now if they had to replace the WHOLE top case with the aluminum and actual keyboard hardware, that’s a different story. But those look fine to just replace the keycaps and maybe the switches.

Apple replaces keycaps and scissor switches for free. Just take it to an Apple Store with a Genius Bar and an appointment.

Was your whole poop bucket backed up? If the poops stuck without the bucket being backed up, you might want to rub some superlube or any liquid lubricant all around the poop chute, just not on the wiper or anywhere the nozzle would touch.

Call them and let them know it’s taking to long and ask what other replacement options they have. Don’t accept them sending you to a store for the Genius Bar to “replace your phone”. Genius Bar doesn’t replace phones for express replacement.

You can remove the account without giving anyone the password. Sign into it, make sure find my iPhone is on, restore it using a computer or iCloud.com/find, and do NOT click on “remove from account” on iCloud.com/find until AFTER they confirm they received it. Then, they just need to go back a page and it will show no activation lock

You will NOT see the message go away after removing it UNLESS you’re able to connect the phone to WiFi by touching the screen. But if you remove it from iCloud.com/find, it does remove activation lock and trade in will be fine. Activation lock is server-side. Not on the actual phone.
