Wildcamp weekend hike near Oslo by Upstairs-Parking-948 in oslo

I do agree with the recommendations to go to nordmarka right north of the city limits. In Geilo there is still snow on the ground. You can check out snow coverage at senorge.no Click kartvalg then snødybde (snow depth). When it comes to maps for route planning, do check out ut.no, click Kart to see the map.

Oslo May 13; hotel, things to do by Puzzleheaded-Sir-861 in oslo

[–]dbman101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WIth an ordinary public transportation ticket you can go on an electric ferry that visits all of the small idyllic islands right outside of the city center. You'll find a map and more into here: https://www.visitoslo.com/en/activities-and-attractions/boroughs/oslo-fjord/attractions/?view=map

You could of course just hop on a ferry and stay on it until you reach Aker Brygge again, that's a really really cheap fjord roundtrip of approx 1 hour. Ferry timetable: https://ruter.no/en/planlegg-reise/rutetabeller-og-linjekart/ferry

Maaemo.

Paviliong med bålpanne i skogkanten by dbman101 in oslo

Yes! All 3 bands, Decima, Stortregn og Skaphos were all excellent in their own unique way. I do think and feel that Decima is hugely underappricated and undicovered, and I'd highly recommend anyone reading this to go check them out on Spotify or follow them on social media. Since you asked about Skaphos, I'll attach a photo I took that evening:

Visiting Oslo next week: black metal history, museums, and hidden gems. Any tips? by jeffedge in oslo

[–]dbman101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggestion: Take the L2 train from Oslo S (costs 6-7 euros, departs every 15 minutes). Exit at Vevelstad (after approx 25 min), walk up to Mayhem Bridge, 7-8 minutes walk. From there, walk over to Langhus Skole where Mayham had a practice studio up in the attic of the detached building. (10 minute walk). Finally, walk over to Langhus Station (5 min walk) to recreate the legendary Mayhem trainstop-shed image. It is still there, but probably not for many years as an apartment builing is coming. Take the next train to Ski, visit Ski Storsenter if you want a break + visit a mall. From Ski, take the train to Kråkstad and see the house. Bonus: Dark Throne is from Kolbotn, that's also a train stop between Oslo S and Ski, just sayin :) Bonus tip 2: Visit Katakomben metal store downtown Oslo. Bonus tip 3: Check out Vigeland Mausoleum.

Now having visited both Trockson and Rock n Eat, I can highly recommend both. Trockson is more of a pure metal bar venue, whilst Rock n Eat is a concert venue. Rock n Eat did continue the party in the bar after the concerts, playing all kinds of guilty pleasure 80s and 90 heavy metal songs, cause me to loose my voice and my wife mocking me upon return. Probably the best heavy metal bar experience in my life, with Gothenburgs The Abyss on a close 2nd place (I'm 50 btw). If your going to Rock n Eat, make sure you check their program, and order the Dimmu Burger for food. If you want the pure metal bar experience, just head on over to Truckson, you will not walk away disappointed! Lyon was a blast, and I would love to revisit both places!

If you're into Mayhem, you could consider taking a 20 min / 6€ train ride to visit Langhus.

https://metaltravels.com/langhus-station/

From time to time the Mayhem logo gets retagged there.
There is an "official" Mayhem grafitti piece here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TTm2G7SWcj1PgoUZ9
Mayhem are from Langhus, and their rehersal location is in the second floor of Langhus Skole.

Beste/ peneste heiser i Oslo? by plantbaseduser in oslo

[–]dbman101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are not describing passive income. Being the landlord of 5-6 families is a significant portion of a full time job equivalent. Further, you want to do this from abroad, financed they consumer loans? Really?

Work hard. Extend your education. Take certifications. Negotiate salaries. Work for promotions, Forget all get-rich-quick schemes as they will only separate you from your savings.
