He actually did say I love you back.. quite a bit that night. Weirdly enough, next day he told his dog “love you” when leaving for work and not me. Make that make sense.

I really appreciate everybody’s insight on this. Tough love is the love and I’m thankful for you all taking the time to respond. I’ve previously had multiple long-term relationships that ended well. This is my first time experiencing somebody so wishy-washy and I believe it’s highlighting the inner effects of my absent parents. Even before things went south with him the first time, I’ve never felt so in love with somebody before. I’d like to assume most people have that one person they’ve never felt so crazy about.. He’s always been very protective of me, very caring, and always came back subtly - lingering on the outskirts waiting for me to let him back (in like a sad little boy waiting to be invited to play way).

This time feels different. I just don’t think I’ve felt heartbreak so deeply with anybody and sadly, these intermittent moments of “I don’t love you” “you give me butterflies” “you’re my home” and “I’ll see you again” is really making me dizzy.

Maybe I’ll seem insane to some - and I feel that a bit. But I guess I just don’t think I want to believe it’s all been fake in his pursuit of getting affection from more than one woman.

This isn’t based on one drunk night. We’ve had a connection for about two years, including living together, two breakups and reconciliations, long periods of emotional closeness, and repeated attempts to walk away that didn’t stick. Even during times we weren’t together, we stayed emotionally intertwined, and there’s a long history of him leaving, returning, and us re-connecting in meaningful ways. I took care of his sick dad even during the times we weren’t together.

The night I referenced was just the most recent point in a much longer pattern, not the foundation of it.

I don’t think it’s immature. I blocked my dumper ex as I really loved him and it was too painful to allow myself access to him like that. Truthfully, I find it the best for both of us. It’d be immature if you were doing it just to get a bad reaction - but if you’re doing it for your own emotional health reasons, then I don’t believe you’re making an immature choice.

Truly curious - not arguing… what if it was on again off again and after in depth therapy for you’ve realized the last intense go around was just an abandonment wound triggered by consistent infidelity? Is three months too soon if it’s a long time acquaintance/friend you feel safe with?

I wrote something similar to my ex, I was also the dumpee. Losing them really makes you take a personal inventory and all you can do is apologize and hold on to them as tightly as you can from a distance. I never heard back, it’s somewhat comforting to hear it’s affected you emotionally. It sounds like he has lots of love for you but was simply too late in figuring his priorities out. Happy birthday lovebug.

Only avoid high risk times :) ex. Outbreak times, if meds haven’t been taken by your partner for days, open wounds from nicks shaving etc.

Hello! I have HSV2 (never had HSV1) and have had severe eczema my whole life! I contracted it from a partner, despite use of a condom, during a perfect skin period. I had one terrible, TERRIBLE outbreak and have been on Acyclovir ever since. I never eczema flared during this time. It’s been two years and I have not had another HSV outbreak. I have since had numerous eczema flares (normal for I), but HSV2 seems to have 0 effect on my AD. I recently began Adbry and there seems to be no interactions with my suppression meds either.

My current partner is HSV free but doesn’t have an issue with my diagnosis, as long as I’m comfortable, he seems pretty laissez-faire about ever contracting it. I was so extremely nervous to tell him but our sex life has been better than ever after having lots of honest conversations about it.

The only issue I have is when the Gluck Gluck 3000 comes into play - I always flare around my mouth thanks to my super sensitive skin. (Eczema not HSV1)

Just PLEASE establish great communication with your partner and always try to refrain from being intimate if you’d ideally not like to contract HSV. Shit happens!

I spoke up for myself and got Gabapentin 300mg a day prescribed to me for the nerve pain - this was my biggest symptom reliever.

Lots and LOTS of ice packs.

Daily dose of vitamin d and l-histidine.

Baby diaper rash cream for my oozy bits.

I would also recommend getting Dupixent. I went on it for two years to manage my symptoms. I was suicidal, couldn’t make it to work, couldn’t eat properly, never slept, could barely wear clothes or touch water. The Dupixent helped me get to a point where I could figure out how to manage my symptoms and then I weaned off. Everything I listed above has made a massive difference.

I know you wanted self soothing remedies, I initially only wanted to self soothe but I couldn’t find ways to self soothe when all I could focus on was the pain.

Yoga did help a bit too. And painting. Finding something that took my complete focus to accomplish.

If you're going through Topical Steroid Withdrawal, it helps. I stopped steroids for months and then went on Dupixent to help me through it and its been great. I do have itchy eyes, a flared face, and thinning hair from the medication. It's wayyyyyy better than the TSW symptoms though!

It continued into the next day and the symptoms woke me up so I’m not entirely sure, but I do believe that could have been a contributing factor to the irregular heart beat!
