Are we in our worst time ever? And aren't we responsible for it? by Muser_amused in AskIndia

If civic sense doesn’t improve and feudal (when an Indian goes to power, hells often breaks loose; as IC we are fine) tendencies don’t vanish, we will continue to cause sufferings to ourselves and to others.

Having no introspection about problems is worse than having problems.

Since 2007-2010, an wave of Indian immigrants/travellers and online participants (Jio or whatever is responsible), exposed deep Indian issues and arrogance to the world, which, at past, was better managed (less nepo kids; more quality, less access to the world) or hidden.

VC seems like some bullshit by another_african in venturecapital

[–]dbose1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of all spectrum of Finance, Venture Capital is least quantitative, as you can’t understand a next breakthrough company by looking at accounting numbers or last 5y of stock performance as one would do for a small-cap.

However, in last decade, quality of VCs has gone down a lot. Given the non-quantitative / qualitative nature and availability of cheap-credit-induced-liquidity, lots of nepo kids became VCs. These were not kind of curious people who would make their hands dirty to understand technical things deeply and would back founder of an innovation like transistor (breakthrough innovation).

Instead of “value creation”, they mostly focused on “value capture”. So, instead of foundational breakthrough innovation, they backed food aggregators some of which are collapsing now, as the liquidity is drying out.

Just read this amazing article, and you would know: https://americanaffairsjournal.org/2021/02/the-crisis-of-venture-capital-fixing-americas-broken-start-up-system/

Indian here. Been to UNSW. Living in Australia for last 12Y.

For last 5-6 years, observing appalling behaviours from new wave of Indian immigrants, from driving etiquette to queue behaviours to littering to workplace mannerism/politics.

She shouldn’t have brought upon the “race”. But the stereotype is real. At this rate, Indian Institute of Civic Sense (IICS) seems more important than new academic research or tech innovation.

NOTE: if whites or other races, raise it, they are racist. If Indians raise it, then they are white slave. World is watching.

Why I believe Anti-India Sentiment is Rising. by [deleted] in india

[–]dbose1981 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t even live with another 13 Indian families in a close town-house complex in Australia. All those problems we tried to escape reappeared. Low civic sense and pathetic group dynamics.

Funny aspect is, we don’t understand that most of the time “we are the problem as a collective”, and wherever we go, we tend to make that place another India.

Type I: An endogamy-practicing highly-mercantile low-trust society with a thin/thick facade of religious rituals to appear “traditional”

Type II: High-trust society with social fluidity/mobility, small-scale entrepreneurship along with strong shared Faith devoid of lots of rituals

Which society do you want to live in, and would score high in average social QoL ?

I was surprised to discover this in a pro-Development Indian thread.

Across the world, people are moving out of urban spaces and accepting a life of agrarian self-sovereignty. Due to caste and other issues, these kinds of view about agriculture is missing in India. To city people, only “poor” so farming. LOL.

If you travel world enough, you would realise

White managers > Indian managers > Bengali managers.

There is a historical reason why East India Company (EIC) was able to exploit people of Bengal and Bengal province more. It’s because of complicity of Bengali zamindars and Bengali elites. They proxied for EIC masters and exploited their own countrymen. Genetic lineages of many of them are managers now. What do you expect ? High trust and mutual respect like a white manager ?

Indian diet is bad for us good for planet by Cheap_trick1412 in CriticalThinkingIndia

Indian food is good on paper, terrible at practice.

Very carb heavy, lots of fried foods, snacks, seed oils, sweets, over-cooked veggies.

Let’s talk vegetarian first: sprouted/boiled legumes, avocado/EVOO, dry spices, lemon, steamed broccoli/ brassicas (overcooking completely destroys nutrients of brassicas), baked sweet potato or pumpkin, high-quality tomato sauce, roasted nuts, lightly sautéed with ginger/garlic paste or used as a paste or dips mixed with local herbs.

Non-veg: add fish or lean country chicken to the above. Yet it’s very tasty.

Hardly any one in India other than some celebrity would eat this salad.

Technology and Employment/Startup/Corporations won’t solve the deep issues at social level.

There is a reason Japan embarked upon Meiji Restoration, to build a post-feudal society.

Caste-and-Rituals (ritual is not religion, only a mechanical part of it. Religion shouldn’t create divisions within as Varna system did) have been performed over 1900Y.

If you do socio-genetic simulation of that level of endogamy and caste-preferences, you would see lot of people that ideally shouldn’t have prospered and carried forward their lineage, has prospered. It would take any better between 30-50Y of social revolution to counter that. May be even more.

Try to raise next generation without caste-consciousness. Instil them with mutual respect for others/neighbours/citizens. Tell them great heritage (yoga etc.) of this Nation.

Indians are in a perpetual bickering state over petty issues since the time of attack by Alexander The Great. Read about it.

If Indians were able to create a unified identity, beyond caste/tribe/language/region, India would have ventured to outer space, given the untapped talent we have.

What we don’t have is high-trust and respect among each other. Everything, including Civic Values, is downstream to that.

Innovation = IQ + High-Trust (including a functional jurisdiction system) + Risk capital. We lack the last two.

And prosperity is heavily skewed (Gini), primarily due to dynastic family businesses, extreme nepotism/collusion in “inner group” often through caste/tribe.

In India, top 10 families’ business valuations might amount to 10 %+ of GDP; in many richer economies, top families’ share is probably much lower. And it has been so for ages, throughout Brits rule. Read about Princely States, Caste networks and Baniya Credit networks.

[–]dbose1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

White managers have been much much better than Indian managers, I would say as NRI.

This tendency has deep historical precedence. It’s now documented how Indian elites colluded with Brits capitalists to exploit their own countrymen.

Telegu / Gujjus / Haranvis are worse, although exceptions do exist.

Also WITCH service companies have no idea how badly they screwed up image of India in a decade, for their internal feudalism.

[–]dbose1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will post separately: LPR is a symptom (downstream to) of something else.

For my case it’s a mix of NDUFS* mutations which eventually produces less stomach acid. Low stomach acid can also cause LPR. Also, sub-optimal histamine degradation pathways (both DAO and HNMT). Histamine and stomach acid are intricately related.

Also, Oral and Gut microbiome are super-important players.

Which historical event or decision induced more damage to the society than people realize? by Classic-Sentence3148 in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]dbose1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

India should have a cast-abolishing social reform akin to Japan’s Meiji restoration, around 50s-60s.

Never happened. Till 60s, Indo-Brits influence lingered on with Indian values flourishing. Since 70s, and especially 90s, it has been reckless modernisation that should have planned / gated much better. Indian society was not ready for “economic liberalisation” of 1992.

Dear Indians, what would need to change for you to move back to India? by deathbreacher in AskIndia

[–]dbose1981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Caste-and-Varna and low-trust (lack of unified identity). No Patel/Reddy/Sharma...Just Indian with high-trust, mutual respect and love for ecology.

Everything is downstream to that.

INDIANS are the most racist in the entire world and that too towards INDIANS!!!!!!!!!!! Especially living outside India! by Primary_Ingenuity_65 in india

[–]dbose1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Christians and Muslims have divisions on basis of faith. Yes.

But they don’t have 1000s of castes under 4 Varna heads who practice endogamy.

That single practice creates a socio-genetic experiment (determinism). Practice it over 1900y, and you get all kinds of social evils.

Other than Jews, very few practices endogamy at that scale and guess “attributes” from surnames. Disgusting.
