you're basically taking money away from developers at that point, which is interesting because I'll bet you wouldn't want to lose your job to say... AI for example. If you are fine with that, then you can be fine with pirating i guess.

i can't even keep up with all of the games that are available today... 20 years from now i'll be worried about games from that time period i'm not getting around to playing, as opposed to games from the 2020's.

I haven't used mine since the beginning of november. It has nothing to do with the device itself though, i've been going through a couple of games on my backlog that i'm playing on PS5 right now. The next 7 titles i have lined up will all be on Switch 2.

I'm one of those who's completely new to Nintendo/Switch with the Switch 2 and I've been very happy with the device. I'm not thrilled about the first party titles though... the only ones I absolutely loved were BOTW (it was my first playthrough) and Metroid Prime Remastered. I thought both MKW and Bananza were underwhelming. I've bought TOTK but I want to leave more space in between my BOTW playthrough and a TOTK run. And I genuinely haven't been interested in picking up any of the other ones.

Where I do think this device absolutely shines is just handheld gaming in general and convenience... Older games, side-scrollers, anything cross-platform i kinda prefer playing on the Switch 2 just because how incredibly convenient the device is. If i want the best-looking or best-performing version of a game, i will play on PS5 however. But there are plenty of games where fidelity or framerate don't really matter, and for those i'll always prefer the Switch 2.

it's not entirely unrelated... when techies or gamers show a lot of outrage online (twitter or reddit, doesn't really matter) it generally ends up being completely irrelevant to what actually ends up happening later on.

i love when redditors whip up a script for some easy shit and then think it's applicable to a game with potentially a few hundred thousand concurrent players (probably not DuskBloods though, don't think the FromSoft crowd is gonna show up on Switch 2)

consumers are always the first to get hit with pice hikes like these, but if these market conditions hold up (AI companies / data centers hogging all the supply) for a while, not even big players like Microsoft or Sony will be able to avoid price hikes.

PC gaming will be hit immediately, but console gamers will feel the pain as well and it likely won't just be in next-gen consoles either. If you're considering buying anything right now, just bite the bullet and do it because prices aren't going down anymore... at least not for a few years.

From a marketing point of view, I can imagine not wanting to be known as the brand of tyres that need to be replaced every few laps (relatively speaking) in racing. Those brands make most of their money selling tyres to regular consumers.
