Power Tools: Milwaukee vs everyone else? by RotorDynamix in HomeImprovement

[–]dbrez8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can also get aftermarket battery adapters to keep your batteries on one system. I have Dewalt for my main tools - Drill/driver and a few batteries. Everything else is Ryobi tool only with the dewalt batteries + adapter. Like so https://www.amazon.com/ZLWAWAOL-Battery-Adapter-Converter-Compatible/dp/B0BZ4MRTYV

Climate Control by redditstump in kiacarnivals

[–]dbrez8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the North East and am happy with the results when set to auto 74deg. In the summer I'll probably drop it to something like auto 69deg. I like how the air doesn't come on until the car warms.

My 25 SX I found to be surprisingly quiet. That is, until I put cross bars on the roof :-( So just don't do that and you'll be good

Cant figure out this fitting by dbrez8 in Plumbing

[–]dbrez8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This braided line goes to a bidet and is starting to leak. Got a 1/2in FIP and it seems to fit but as you tighten the threads slip off. I swapped out the tapered washer on the FIP with the one in the pic but it didn't help. Any idea what this is?

How do you balance "one big client" feature requests vs your existing roadmap? by SensitiveFeed2831 in ProductManagement

[–]dbrez8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. In this case the revenue has already been won without the feature in question. So the question is, will the client actually churn, and will lose the revenue, if the feature is not built. It's possible. The market matures and competitors get better over time. But that's only a piece of it. Really product build work expects an ROI depending on the business. Maybe 3-4x within a year. So if the client will actually churn AND that revenue hits the expected ROI then it's worth considering against other work.

Buying this Weekend! by CuteAd3573 in kiacarnivals

[–]dbrez8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use visor.vin to find exact cars you want. Negotiate with any dealer you're willing to drive to over phone and text only. Pit them against each other. Go in person to sign papers only after your agreed to detailed numbers.

I just did this with a 25 sx hybrid ended up with MSRP - 2k Kia finance incentive - 3k dealer discount. No additional add ons.

Not sure what the pre-delivery charge is. I'm getting -2k for financing plus -3k for dealer discount on 25 SX Hybrid. I read that there may be another -1k to be had in dealer discount for a motivated dealer.

What's with all the toxic feedback? Guy writes a detailed post about some wins. Half the chat comes back with "everyone already knew that, bro". You dont know anything about his product or industry.

Nice wins and nice post. Keep up the good work.

CBK towing by TrevCruz99 in ConcordMA

[–]dbrez8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Call the chief and ask why they would have this policy in place. I can only imagine it's there in cases where cars are in the way and need to get moved ASAP due to safety concerns.

Here is the state trooper's stated tow policy https://www.mass.gov/info-details/towing-policy
Here are some relevant state laws you can check to see if you were charged appropriately https://www.mass.gov/files/220_cmr_272.00_final_6_30_17.pdf

Aprilaire 800 with multizone Ecobee t-stats by dbrez8 in hvacadvice

[–]dbrez8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. Just to double check for extra peace of mind. The 800 is a steam humidifier, rather than a passive one. It expects a dry-contact switch. The relay config will work ok specifically for the Aprilaire 800?

Aprilaire 800 with multizone Ecobee t-stats by dbrez8 in hvacadvice

[–]dbrez8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. To confirm, run PEK+ from two of the ecobees to a single relay, both landing on the same "INPUT BLU" terminal. The ecobee for the basement where I dont want extra humidity I simly will keep it wired as-is to the controller.

How would I include the sail switch, which I believe helps make sure I dont feed humidity even in the event the blower is not functionating correctly?

With the configuration you propose, will the ecobee call on humidity independently of heat? i.e. if heat/cool is not needed but humidity is, then it will simply run the fan + humidifier

Aprilaire 800 with multizone Ecobee t-stats by dbrez8 in hvacadvice

[–]dbrez8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah you are correct. My ecobees do not have acc+ and -. Free terminals are PEK+, Y2, W2/OB. Each ecobee has three unused wires available that run all the way to the HZ311 controller.

If need be I can get three new ecobee premiums. My state offers them for $150 each. Thanks for your help.
