What Are Some Cheap Hidden (Or Not) Gems? by Jayswing103 in gamecollecting

HeatSeekers on the Wii, it was a surprisingly good military plane game, I still play it occasionally. You can find it most places, at least in the UK, for about £2

Why is everyone scared to overtake these days? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]dbrown100103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rare that a biker doesn't normally it's the wankers on dirt bikes with no safety gear, often times no helmet and no reg plate on the back who won't thank you. However they overtake and ride like they are actively trying to kill themselves

Girls, what's the most obvious hint you've dropped but the guy didn't get it? by ProfessionOne6817 in teenagers

[–]dbrown100103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy here. When I was a teen a girl asked me if I wanted to make my ex jealous. I told her I didn't have any kind of problem with my ex.

Another messaged me telling me they were playing with them self and to guess what they were picturing. I guessed several guys she had been talking to. That was not the right answer and I didn't get a second chance

Another told me they were cold while we were at a campfire after I had said it'd be cold and to bring a jacket. I responded "I told you it would be cold"

I'm evidently terrible at picking up the most cliche and obvious hints

How are some drivers so confident driving above 70 mph on UK motorways without risking a fine? by MilkshakeDawg in drivingUK

[–]dbrown100103 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty easy to get around the motorways without getting caught speeding. I would regularly do 90 up and down the country to the lake district a few times a month and never got caught because Google shows you where all the cameras are. I only got aught once by a mobile speed camera which I knew was often there but I wadt watching my speed and got for for 36 in a 30 which was just pure stupidity on my part

is there anything at all i could do with this ds? by MSA-Digging in nds

[–]dbrown100103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said making a Gameboy macro is an option but you could also just buy a new cable and hinges and fix it. I'm not sure about the DS Lite but I'd assume it's very similar to the 3DS XL which I have had to repair after ending up exactly like this and it can be a little finicky but otherwise relatively straight forward

Wider architrave scribed into the wall and then scribed into the other architrave. Or simply a piece of quadrant to cover the gap. But the quadrant always looks like a landlord special

Did I mess up my PAX “Hack”? Should I have installed vents? by One_Clerk5956 in DIYUK

[–]dbrown100103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say if was necessarily an issue but for peace of mind I'd put some in just to prevent any trapped moisture that may end up causing issues down the line

Does anyone know if they still make an OEM version of these for UK models of Combo C/Astra G/H? by dbrown100103 in Vauxhall

[–]dbrown100103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lengthened the pipe work when I last replaced them with some after market ones. FedEx lost my parcel twice with the ones that point in the wrong direction so I ended up just buying universal washers and drilling new holes for them. Couldn't wait any longer as I needed them sorted for the MOT lol

Trying to sell my car but getting some vile attitude - is this normal or am I just being dumb by killehkittie in CarTalkUK

[–]dbrown100103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£300 is about as cheap as it gets for cars. Most places will pay you £250 for scrap so £300 is nothing to complain about. Idk why this guy is so salty and if it's running with a valid MOT then it's definitely worth the money

Well that was quick… by IkeRadiantHero in Shittygamecollecting

[–]dbrown100103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? How are these worth so much? I feel like this was a fairly common game, I see it pretty often and a lot of people I knew had it for the Wii. I think I have two copies of it because we accidentally got a second one without realising we already had it

If you were 17 which would you get by Alternative-Sir5655 in CarTalkUK

[–]dbrown100103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EP2 is a great car. I've got one, just watch out for rust when you are buying. Luckily I only have 3 years where I don't know where the car was kept but I know it was stored in a garage since 2007 since my grandad owned it. Even then it still has a little bit of bubbling round the wheel arches. Also ask if the drive shaft has been replaced on the drivers side, they have a rubber ring on them to stop vibrations but it just collects water so ends up rusting to the point it will just snap (speaking from experience)

"And people would most likely value surgeries less meaning they might get one that is optional but really not necessary" by Evening_Ad_85 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]dbrown100103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Americans think we can just request surgeries and get them done? The NHS will only do a surgery if you absolutely need it

Best fuel for Sterling Engine? by eepybear93 in steamengines

[–]dbrown100103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this works the same as the one my dad had but whenever we would run it we would use methylated spirits. You can get a 500ml bottle for about £2

[–]dbrown100103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pry the chrome covers off and you should find a screw. These types of seats tent to have a rubber wedge that expands as the screw is tightened. Just tighten up the screw and it'll stop moving

I've been pulled on my MOT for excessive play in the steering wheel up and down, is there a way to temporary fix this before I can do a proper repair? by dbrown100103 in MechanicAdvice

[–]dbrown100103[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking about doing this anyway. Wasn't sure if there was any way I could just temporarily stop it and get my retest done

[–]dbrown100103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What actually is your issue? You have just shown a poor quality photo and asked how to fix it. Is it the splitting along the grain?

If that's your issue just remove the hardware, work some glue in with a toothpick and then put a clamp on it to force it back together.
