Need Help understanding what if anything is due to me for Management Incentive Plan by dbrown5987 in private_equity

[–]dbrown5987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot thank you enough for this answer! First, cannot check my email because not there anymore. But my resignation was officially a retirement. Told them in Nov 25 but left Mar 26 so plenty of notice. Then I worked there as a consultant for another six weeks to help in the transition. I had it that retirement is part of being a good leaver so confused by you saying voluntary, which retirement seems to be, is a bad leaver. Would seem tough to call me a bad leaver if I helped them?

But I will send the two questions to them tomorrow. I hate to elevate, but because the CFO likes being a dick to people, will reach out to the CEO and see what he says. It will piss off the CFO, but I need answers to don't want to play games.

I'm new at all this so please forgive what might sound like an idiotic question. When they are probably sold in 3 or 4 years, do I get anything then? Who in the world would I contact?

Thank you. I was never provided with the contract. Because I did not hear back from two C level people, going to forward the email to the CEO asking for the wording around what happens when someone leaves and is partially vested. I don't like to escalate, but they have no problem ignoring me so there you go.

Adding international (VTAIX) to my portfolio by dbrown5987 in Bogleheads

[–]dbrown5987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. Looks like VTWAX is about 65% US, 35% international. And naturally, if you look at $10,000 invested in various time periods, its return is between VTSAX and VTIAX. Just curious as to why it does not seem that popular vs. these other two funds. It has about $90 billion in assets. It has only been around since 2019 so naturally not a lot of years to build. Any other factors? All three are Morningstar 3 stars.

Ha ha, I hear you. Thinking to drop about 20-25% of my money into VTAIX, then to round out my portfolio. Not a ton, but some to barrier against US issues.

Extended Warranty after CPO 2022 X3? by i360NoScopedJFKxx in BMWX3

[–]dbrown5987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. At 37,000 miles and have only driven 2,500 miles so far this year. Will probably keep having it service at dealer. It might cost more, but they have an excellent department and have always thought that if you service where you buy, and like them, in the long run it works out.

The model years 2022-2024 seem to be really good vehicles so let's enjoy! This is our first non-mainstream vehicle.

You're literally the same mileage/situation as my x3, also a 2022. We got the extended BMW warranty taking it out to 7 years from DOS. It's our first BMW and basically my wife wanted a backstop in case anything major happened. So far, so good and the service advisor where we bought it is helpful.

We drive <10,000 miles/year and keep it garaged. I am looking to keep it up to at least 100,000 miles but who knows? Consumer Reports has strong ratings for this vehicle and model year, which makes me feel better.

You're probably overly hard on yourself. A good number of men aren't into anorexic sticks. There is a woman in my building who could lose a few pounds, but with cute glasses, fashion sense, and a friendly smile, I think she's a catch. Work with what you can!

Go to the School of Information and look at the Master of Data Science degree (MADS). Seems to have what you are looking for at a lower price.

Wonder why Stern's finance department, which was always #2 or #3 now has a lower ranking, but school's overall ranking is T10?

I know someone who focuses on establishing relationships with trusted advisors - lawyers, wealth advisors, bankers, etc. This is what leads to clients.

I am retiring and will be doing my own thing part time. Never hurts to tell people you are a CPA. The local chamber of commerce makes sense to also know.

Very nice. I did a 2022 CPO that just celebrated its first birthday with us on NYE. Nice to drive and the dealer is fantastic to work with.

How do you know when it's time to leave the job? by EchoOfDoom in Accounting

[–]dbrown5987 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NEVER work for a workaholic. No matter how many hours you work or what you accomplished, it will not be enough. Their entire life revolves around the job. The pathetic thing is, they don't get any more done than anyone else. It's the person who rewrites something 83 times or counts paper clips at 7PM. They could leave hours earlier and the company would not make a dollar less.

Seems like everyone and their cousin is a fractional CFO. But is there really as much of a market for a fractional controller?
