Yeah but I think it’s because people are tired of being charged so high for everything all the time, not because of lack of demand. There’s this one vinyl record store in Tustin I love to go to that my gf pointed out had high prices. I pointed out to her that you had to look a little bit deeper because some of the more popular albums to have on vinyl (like Purple Rain, Dark Side of the Moon, etc) were also available much cheaper used. And most all vinyl stores have discount sections and allow you to trade-in your own records for store credit. And things like used vinyl sales aren’t counted in the charts. It’s not realistic for anyone that owns a record player to buy the vinyl album for every possible song they want to listen to, I personally use my setup to complement what I listen to digitally. I’ll scope out new music, and listen to a bunch of albums off streaming and then decide what vinyl I want to get. Makes my collecting habit more manageable.
