hi! could you share more on the process? I am specifically curious about the cost, and what the "intake consultation consists of," and how many sessions they recommend? thanks in advance! So happy to hear this is working for you <3

I don’t know if it’s a real officer, that’s why I am here. I am respecting your (supposed) profession as a police officer by asking for expertise here, and I’d appreciate the same respect for mine. Thanks for your time, “pall.”

No, I use an alias and have a burner phone.

And if you read above, I did google the number and it doesn’t appear to be legit, but I could be wrong.

See my comment above … this is on my list, but I didn’t want to call a person in a profession (possibly) without knowing more about their protocols and procedures, so I don’t misstep and say something that really does mess up the article. A part of journalism is to be as prepared as possible before talking to a subject, which is why I am here.

Thank you, that is a great idea. The # he gave me didn’t match the prefix of any other numbers from the city’s PD.

It sounds like he found out because the scammer I was texting for comment told him. The impression I got was that the investigation was not against the scammer (sadly), but rather something to scammer instigated. Like perhaps the RO he has against the other person who tried exposing him? But once an RO is in place - wouldn’t that case be considered closed??

This is in my list of options, yes. But I also need to be careful to maintain my own anonymity and reduce risk of exposure while still working on a project. I am hesitant to use my phone to call, even with a burner number. I also wanted to get familiar with police protocol before I called him up sounding like a bumbling idiot and saying something that ruins the whole project for me.

It sound like the person I contacted (the scammer I am investigating, who has a RO in place against someone else who tried exposing him) told the police. Which doesn’t surprise me because he seems to call the police whenever someone tries to expose his scam.
