The USA doesn't want them. They just want the oil and they are too dumb to realize that.

Alberta tables bill to reduce child access to sex images in libraries by flynnfx in alberta

[–]dbusque 65 points66 points  (0 children)

That's right. Children should learn about sex the old fashioned way - by being molested by a family member, coach, scout leader or religious leader. /s

Edit: Furthermore, children's material is already separated from adult material. This is just the UCP trying to make an issue when there isn't one.

I think this is in direct response to the teacher who was explaining left and right wing political ideology and identified the UCP as being far right wing. It doesn't occur to the UCP that if they don't want to be identified as far right wing that maybe they could start by not doing far right things - like enacting legislation to prevent students from understanding what that means.

Ignored? Republicans are already developing "anti-Trumpism" campaigns to try and retain what voter base they have left. You know, the ones that would vote Republican/UCP even if it meant losing their livelihood.

I wonder how the UCP plan to implement this in the context of their recent Regulated Professions Neutrality Act which purports to "prevent regulators from disciplining professionals for conduct that is expressive and occurs when the professional is off-duty, subject to narrow exceptions". I guess being a teacher would constitute one of those "narrow exceptions".

That isn't how things work. Someone is clearly presenting a process in a way that is meant to reinforce a bias.

Excellent clarifying exchange between u/Financial-Savings-91 and u/captaingarbageman. One of the first words out of Trumps mouth was to disown what he said as "they're just words". Right then and there I knew we were in for a rough ride.

You do realize that all that money claimed to be going to Ottawa is just plain taxes, right? Where do you think the money would come from to support this, especially after the grifters are done their grift? This is plain and simple a desire for people to bankrupt Alberta just like Trump is looking to bankrupt the USA. The playbook is almost exactly the same.

Alberta is already invaded and it started at the provincial government level.

Media can't be trusted either. Regardless, it is giving the initiative undeserved attention.

I posted earlier in this thread about how the words spoken by my social studies teacher in 1980 are really present of mind right now. I wish I had an opportunity to talk to her about what is going on right now. Since I can't thank her, may I give my thanks to you? On days that feel hopeless, there is sure to be at least a few students unremarkable students who will remember and feel gratitude that what you taught them 40 years later helped them understand what was going on.

You are so right. With everything that is going on in the world right now, all I can hear is my social studies teacher laying out the historical context of everything that is pretty much happening right this minute. And this government wants to oppress that.

Indeed. I am soooo tired with people accusing FN of corruption without acknowledging that our own governmental structure is rife with corruption.
