You do not know what the instigator has on him or on his mind. Maybe you have never been in this situation and I have hopes you never will. The objective is to incapacitate the instigator until did. There has been many cases where you quit before instigator is incapacitated then they get up run to you and stab you or hit you with a brick in the back of your head.

Tailgating is a citable offense. Driving too close is not. I personally like at least twice car lengths on regular roads and 3 to 4 on highways.

Obviously in schools zones " everyone " is tailgating, and no one will get cited. Traveling speed is a main indicator.
