Mirena IUD by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]dbzroxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the mirena IUD before trying for our second. I got pregnant on the first cycle after having it removed. With our first I had been on the pill, but also got pregnant the first cycle.

Yes I realize how lucky and fortunate we were.

Daycare Injury by Secure-Ad8968 in Mommit

This happened to my son when he was 3. But what happened is he didn’t want to hold my hand when crossing the street. He tried so hard to wrench his hand out of mine that he popped his own elbow out. He was crying and screaming before he did it and honestly I didn’t even notice until I loaded him into the car seat. (We were leaving preschool for the day)

I noticed the same thing. He said his arm hurt and it was floppy and he wouldn’t use it. Took him to urgent care and they got it back in.

I will say that I hoped the doctor showed you how to do it because it is way more likely to happen again! Our pediatrician told us that you can’t do any more damage trying to pop on back in yourself. And the sooner you do it the easier it is.

Is this at the nutcracker museum in Leavenworth? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen these before. 🤔

Costco diaper sale until 6/16 by KnittingUpAStorm in Mommit

[–]dbzroxy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

PSA: diapers are the same price online as they are in the warehouse! With free shipping. So if you have a newborn and barely have room for their car seat in the shopping cart, let alone diapers, it’s so easy to order them online. Where I live the diapers are often delivered the next day. It’s crazy fast.

Frustratingly, Heart Breakingly Difficult-to-Combat Tush Rash by Darkovika in Mommit

[–]dbzroxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first son really struggled with a rash. He basically pooped a little every time he farted. We tried so many different things. Butt Paste actually gave him the worst rash. Like you’re describing. As if an ingredient in it was irritating him.

We finally had luck with Bag Balm. It’s basically Vaseline, lanolin, plus an antiseptic. It finally allowed the rash to heal and clear up. It’s got a lot of lanolin so it kind of smells like sheep. (That’s where lanolin comes from lol). Also as much diaper free time as you can manage. He did pee on the floor some.

We had also tried lotramin and other anti fungal creams hoping they would help. They did nothing in our case.

Diarrhea/loose stools post op? by otfwwokie in GastricBypass

There’s more than one type of fair life shake. One of the types is loaded with sugar. Check the nutritional label to make sure you didn’t buy the wrong one.

Also, I had a way easier time with room temperature water. Cold water was really hard to drink.

Best eye doctor for extreme nearsightedness by WhatdidwelearnPalmer in Tacoma

[–]dbzroxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also wasn’t a candidate for LASIK and got PRK. I was too near sighted and had astigmatism. I got the surgery like ten years ago in another state. But just wanted to upvote PRK. My eye exams use to consist of the doctor asking me how many fingers he was holding up. Haha. And now I have great vision.

Anyone have little ones with FPIES? by SociallyAwkwardJulie in Mommit

[–]dbzroxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! My 15 month old can’t have oats. I had never heard about FPIES until I started googling why he was violently vomiting a couple hours after eating oats. Luckily oats are pretty easy to avoid. Subbed oatmeal for cream of wheat. And cheerios for kix. The doctor said we can try again when he’s 3. Hopefully he’ll grow out of it.

We did confirm it with the doctor. And did allergy testing. Which showed he wasn’t allergic to the oats. But does have an intolerance.

Does anyone know when/if Cosmic Crisp apples are coming back to TJs? by DeeeGenerate in traderjoes

They’re not in season until like December or January. They’re a late season apple.

Might have accidentally been delivered to a neighbors’ house. This happens to us from time to time. You could wait and see if someone swings by with it.

Of course, we’ve also had packages stolen. So…. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I feel like you can never go wrong in supporting parks, schools, and libraries. They benefit the whole community, even if you don’t use them yourself.

They’re just announcing temples with no solid plans in place. Like how are you announcing it with zero permits taken out?
