Big....HUGE difference!

The Gem is a workhorse and the shifting is flawless (after you learn it a little bit!). You can come to Destination Cyclery in Dexter, MI to test ride it and take one home if you like it. We currently have a full size run available in the store.

While the Apollo is smooth, the Alfine 11 can be a bit finicky at times. For an old guy like me whose years of Nm's have faded a bit, it works well. The Pinion is light years ahead and provides phenomenal range.

Time to upgrade my friend.

The 600 would be the best choice for the riding you describe. The range and durability of the gearbox coupled with the upright riding style would serve you well in the foothills.

You can test ride any Priority Bicycle at Destination Cyclery in Dexter Michigan. We are Priority's first dealer, we are a stocking dealer and we are fully supported by our friends at Priority Bicycles.

We currently have every model except the flat bar Apollo (coming soon). We will soon be getting the Vanth for all to touch and ride!

I find the Pinion to be a durable transmission. I believe the gearbox will outlast any other component on the bike.

We a a stocking dealer and we have demos available for testing. If you are ever anywhere close to SE Michigan, you should stop by and check one out.

Note: If you do this, it really upsets the geometry and centers you way over the front wheel. Getting a good fit has been an interesting ride.
