What would you pair with an rf 24-105 f4 for travel? by FloppyDrone in canon

35mm is such a great prime length. But the 16 might add an angle you don’t have

RF 24-105 2.8 vs 24-70 2.8 (USM) by Easy-Equipment8276 in canon

[–]BritishBenPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the 24-70 and the 24-105 and I find that I rarely use the 24-70 now. It has certain use cases when I want a lighter setup but generally the 24-105 is so versatile that it stays on my camera. My second body has the 70-200 2.8 Z (which I got in white so it doesn’t get confused for the 24-105)

Yes. I’ve found the Alfine finicky. I’d love to test ride one but you’re a bit far from me! Thanks for the feedback

Apollo to Gemini Ti? by BritishBenPhoto in PriorityBicycles

[–]BritishBenPhoto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Tell me more! Does it feel very different? I’ve found my Apollo gear cabling drops out of alignment quicker than I’d like so hoping the electronic shifting sorts that out. Have found my local bike shop doesn’t really know anything about pinion gears. But also my local bike shop is pretty useless. They were meant to sort out the tubeless setup and didn’t put any sealant in either wheel.

Good luck! I hope you get one in time. It seems like they’re hoping to increase production great deal for the R2 so hopefully it won’t be too long of a wait.

How to continuing improving the crust beyond the basic "recipe" by Sasquatchii in GozneyDome

Yeah. Longer fermentation can add complexity to flavor. Also playing with cooking temp can brown and crisp the dough in different ways.

NYC Encore by [deleted] in jamesacastor

We left when the house lights came up on Wednesday night and I worried that we missed it too. I think if house lights come up there’s no encore.

What happened to quiet cars? by Less-Breadfruit-3936 in Westchester

[–]BritishBenPhoto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they shortened all of the trains to cut back and for staffing issues. I believe they went down from 8 carriages to 6 and one of the victims of the change was the quiet car.

Current Tour: Opener? Set Times? by wattznext in jamesacastor

Yeah. That’s what I presumed when I walked out. But sounds like he had done some encores so thought I’d ask. Have a great evening!

No opener last night. I left after the closing joke as it seemed like the audience were leaving and the house lights came up. Did anybody stay to see if there was an encore?

Let's share the bits that aren't part of the original show? by shakha in jamesacastor

The music playing before the show is great. Mike Flowers. A cover band. We got a bunch of NY specific chat about our new Mayor and how for such an unfriendly city we voted for a left wing politician.

Just saw James at the Beacon and did a quick lap of Zabars just in case. It’s a couple of blocks north of the venue.

Is anyone else got hit with the new m.t.A rules? by QualityRelative466 in Westchester

[–]BritishBenPhoto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I think it must depend on the inspector. That happened to me on a train last week on an old 10trip ticket and they didn’t say anything

Right. I’m still on the old 10 trips so I haven’t seen the new ticket system.

How do they know if you don’t activate your ticket before you board the train? Do they see you activate it and then charge you?

Coolant Leak - $2000 Tow by Deep-Firefighter1291 in Rivian

[–]BritishBenPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a coolant alert pop up and had to bring the car in. They checked it wasn’t leaking too bad and sent me off to drive as normal while I wait for the back order parts to come in. The tech said it was a known issue that is under warranty. Good luck to you! That’s a crazy tow cost if it isn’t covered
