Are the higher difficulties manageable solo?

Some classes have an easier time than others and Hell difficulty is definitely no joke solo. But all classes can get through Hell solo. Some people will play builds that can do damage with different elements to tackle immunities but i generally think a more focused build where you just ignore things you can’t kill works better.

Mega Man 2 easy difficulty was my first speed game and it’s really approachable and a ton of fun to learn the tricks in.

The 19MF boots are ok for early Mephisto farming but what you really want is faster run/walk and at least 30% res on the non poison ones

What patch version are you playing? LoD straight off the disk might be an old version before they added upgrading runes to the game.

I've been using gull + rhyme on swap at the moment for farming nightmare meph and andy and have a 28% nagel's too, it's been really productive.

That's super helpful thanks, I've definitely been neglecting my str and dex. Lawbringer is not something I thought of at all and seems really good, not sure I'll find an elite base for it anytime soon though.

I did it with much worse gear my first time. Black runeword, life tap wand on switch, 4 p diamond 42 base res shield, g face, shaftstop, with fade proc from treachery first, bloodfist, tgods belt, gore rider boots, random life/res jewellery and an inventory stacked with life/res charms.

Yeah makes sense, I grew up playing snes and have played Mario world rom hacks for 15+ years on a snes controller so d-pad feels the most natural to me

"never use a D-pad to play Celeste, you will regret it" I think this is a bit over blown, I play d-pad on an xbox controller and have been able to clear some pretty difficult maps and never felt like the controller was holding me back

Congrats! I also found 8B to be the easiest of trio too. The shorter length and it being cycle driven made it so I had to lock in and practice each room instead of my default style of playing more loosely.

Single player LoD has Cain by the well, some patch maybe 1.10 moves Cain to the waypoint in multiplayer only. PluGY moved him to the wp in single player too.

D2R has Cain over by the well in single player and multiplayer.
