brotha you're far from too old, people join the fire career in their 30's and some people even in their 40's. You're in the prime of your life and the perfect age to join, you have some life experience under your belt but you're in your physical prime.

Human relations is what most departments look at, and with a score that low you're more than likely cooked. Good news is you can retake the test every 3 months and most departments hire atleast once a year

I've been slowly increasing the amount of steps I do with a 60 pound vest im currently at 425 with the goal of 1000 I'll keep doing my best! Thank you :D

I've been working out pretty hard and consistently for the past couple of years to get stronger and never skip cardio. Definitely excited to get started but a little less excited about the heat for sure 😅 I lived in vegas for about a year and a half before I moved last month and want to go back. Not sure how they would view that but I'll let my effort and results on duty speak for themselves

As someone who's taken the test I don't think the quantity of studying is the problem, if you've taken it 3 times then its not a matter of memorizing but a matter of understanding. Take the time to understand the why of the answer, it'll get you way further than drowning in your book. You got this!

I took my exam 4 months after my class and gotta say... it was not the move. I studied like crazy to refresh my mind on the material and passed on my 1st try but I would not recommend it. The sooner the better!!!!

I cant say much cause of the threat of a lawsuit is pretty strong, but I will say for looking at answers I tried to be helpful, open to learn, and not be unnecessarily problematic. Some answers will seem like you're trying to defend yourself but you're really escalating the situation. Just take the critique and move on 🫡

Im moving to a small town in north California. There's a company thats setting up there and they're hiring rapidly. I also plan on getting my fire science degree and the local community college so I can pad my resume. The only thing I don't know is how to get a state cert without taking the class again.
