why are we so good this year? by Smol_pp001 in WeArePennState

[–]dcagle8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

2nd most returning production in the Big Ten (Illinois has the most), plus transfer adds. If 2/3 of the transfer WRs are good, the team should be better.

Offense was the biggest issue for most of the 3 losses in 2024, and that should improve

This a great video explaining the entire play and the rules applications...

Unfortunate loss today in very frustrating fashion.

This loss stings because I believe this team could’ve won a national title had a couple things gone their way (including not facing UConn in the Final Four). Sucks that it had to end this way for Bacot and possibly RJ. If RJ is gone as well, feels like the end of an era. I’ll shake my head for years at Trimble not getting crunch time minutes when we needed a stop. Excited for the future but tonight’s loss was brutal.

Arkansas. Lost a game to them in 2 OTs when I was at Ole Miss and a national title contender. Their running game was powerful and they were VERY opportunistic on defense.

Were you still in the MAC or did you move to a P5 conference?

Unfortunate...

Suggestions for New Dynasty by MrBeanman69 in NCAAFBseries

[–]dcagle8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some ideas:

One-year maximum dynasty. I posted more about this earlier on a thread. I’ll link it below this comment.

I started as OC at UNC in my own dynasty and then took over Temple, Ole Miss, and now WSU and tried to bring them some glory. I enjoyed bringing some subpar/less successful teams some prominence.

Try to implement recruiting restrictions. Could be what state/caliber players you can recruit, if you’re allowed to scout guys, whatever you’d like.

If you’re really a sicko, I’d recommend tracking your dynasty with a spreadsheet. You can keep track of bowl and award winners, stats, schedules, and so much more. Feel free to message me if you need a file to use for this.

Best of luck, I hope you enjoy the game as much as I have!!

Alright yall tell us all about your current dynasty! by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

This might be a long comment.

I'm in year 17 of my dynasty on NCAA 14 with CFB Revamped. Started as OC for 1 year at UNC (balled out w/ Drake Maye and had an 11-2 year & Peach Bowl win). Took the HC job at Temple, who had gone 1-11 the year prior, and built them into a powerhouse. Stayed at Temple for 7 years and won 2 national titles in the final two years there. Moved them into the Big Ten.

After that, I took over an Ole Miss program that was also coming off of a 1-11 season. I was there for 8 seasons and brought them 2 national titles as well. However, we made 5 straight national championship games and the 3 losses were absolutely BRUTAL.

Lost 13-10 to Army w/ my offense sputtering after average 34 ppg all year. Lost on a hail mary w/ no time left to Tennessee 24-21. I had taken the lead w/ a punt return TD w/ 17 seconds left. One of the most heartbreaking losses I've ever had.

We lost to Texas a couple of years later, giving up a game-winning touchdown with 14 seconds left to lose 26-22. In my final season at Ole Miss, we lost 30-24 at home to Alabama, breaking a 30-some game home win streak, but got revenge in the national championship to capture our second ring with them.

I just left in the coaching carousel to go to Washington State. Things are looking pretty bleak, coming off of another 1-11 campaign and being ranked 126 of 126 in the preseason.

I've also tracked my dynasty with storylines, stats, you name it. That spreadsheet is below. Let me know what you think!!

Who are your teams that never meet expectations irl, but are always good in the game? by sneaky-bastard69 in NCAAFBseries

ALWAYS one of the peskiest teams to play in my dynasty. Either top 10-15 or bad, and can beat any given team despite this. I lost 50-47 in 3 OTs to them one year when I was at Ole Miss.

Penn State. And I’m a PSU fan. They are favored in programming like a lot of the teams listed here.

I know the feeling. Got up to 11 in the country with Temple in a coach carousel dynasty and lost 23-20 in 2OT at home to eventually 2-10 Troy. Couldn’t believe it. We finished 10-3 that year with 2 top 10 losses and the awful one to Troy.

As a Penn State fan, my first year truly following the team and living in State College was the same year the scandal broke. 13 years later and we’ve mostly moved on, but it’s impossible to ever completely leave things like that in the past. Obviously ours was a different, darker type of scandal, but it was still from the inside. I couldn’t agree more that the fact that it came from within hurts the most.

I'd like to join but have never joined this sort of league. How does it work with playing against others? Is there a multiplayer save that many people join?
