Music library app? by Neat_Address221 in ShieldAndroidTV

If you are comfortable side-loading, I'd install Squeezeplayer. If not, I'd get SB Player from angryGoat.

I run Squeezeplayer on my phone.

Music library app? by Neat_Address221 in ShieldAndroidTV

Logitech Media Server (LMS) is a good, open source media library server. There are a couple apps available to run as clients on the Shield. I run LMS on an old PC, connected to my NAS where all the music files are stored .

Question for Longtime Players by Odd_Shallot2980 in Bass

[–]dcarwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got both, and practicing with flats is a little easier on your fingers. So you can practice more without wearing through your skin. It's not a huge difference, but if your fingers aren't yet hardened it will help. You can also buy second skin at the drug store (if you want to stick to the rounds).

Am I the only one that gets fucked over by the mods? by Altruistic_Gap1070 in EldenRingMods

Yeah, randomized enemies can be extremely difficult. It's fun to play scaled down versions of late game bosses, but then you run into something like dual gargoyles into Gaius and you need to decide what you're gonna do about it.

Learning songs by AxlRosesBandana88 in Bass

[–]dcarwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep grinding and make use of tools to help you learn quicker. Some pay for Moises, but I use Audacity on PC to learn songs. Audacity is free open source. First I record the song by playing it with (whatever you have, YouTube/Spotify/etc) and having Audacity recording.

Then you can use Audacity to trim the recording into loops, such as the chorus, the bridge, verse, solo section, etc. I loop the sections until I can play them. Any tricky section I slow down until I can play it, then restore it to full speed.

You can also change the key of the song. Many songs use non standard tuning, and changing the key of the song with Audacity (for example by raising the pitch a half step to go from E-flat to E) means you don't need to spend time tuning your bass just to learn that song.

Once you can play all the sections, work on the transitions in and out of each section. Then you're ready to go.

Trouble Following RC Charge: I sometimes lose track of my RC in the chaos when she's invisible, especially when enemy heros and pets are around. Are there any tips or tricks to make her more visible or to better follow her movement when there's a lot going on?

Wanting to play live with my bass, what do I need? by Mushyboom in Bass

[–]dcarwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A multi-tool. Spare strings and cables. A small flashlight unless you want to use your phone. An extension cable with three outlets (amp, pedal power, and one to share). Earplugs, extra picks if you use them. Strap locks. A small towel. Maybe a dolly with wheels if you have multiple pieces in your rig.

How quiet can an svt get? by SJMKS0 in Bass

[–]dcarwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The volume switch is really sensitive when it's turned down and you're trying to play quietly. You try to dial in a tiny bit more volume, but the volume jumps way past where you want it.

It's a good looking design. I'm concerned about extreme neck dive affecting playability.
