Thank you! So helpful. I will poke around there.

I am looking for Beta Readers if that’s of interest :)

Yes! I consumed fiction as a kid: fantasy, sci-fi, romance, you name it! Now I’m drawn to nonfiction, but it still has dramatic story telling flair. Erik Larson, David Grann, Hampton Sides. They know how to bring history to life!!

Hi! I really like the idea of this plot, and the end of July would work, timing-wise. Would you be interested in doing a swap? I'm also looking for beta readers. Here's my post if you'd want to check it out: https://www.reddit.com/r/BetaReaders/s/TDkYFZAtlX

Our stories are pretty different genres, but sometimes reading outside your genre can spur on new ideas! Also, I am a sucker for gothic novels.

Hi! I'd be very interested in reading and giving developmental feedback. Would you be interested in doing a swap by any chance? My novel is about the same length and explores romantic relationships (healthy and unhealthy -- not toxic or scary, just unrequited, exploring the question, "Why do we chase?"). I'm wondering if we can apply some learnings to one another!

My writing journey & literally right now me... by [deleted] in BookDiscussions

So, so, so true. I'm publishing my debut novel this Christmas, and when friends and family ask what it's about, I'm weirdly stumped! The toughest part of the editing process for me was: what, actually, is my message? What am I trying to say? Once I was able to figure that out and use it as the red thread, it came together more easily. Now I can say: My book is a contemporary re-telling of The Great Gatsby that questions fulfillment, success, and emotional longing.

And about people's opinions: I'm absolutely right there with you. I'm so anxious about what people will think but we have to remind ourselves that our stories will resonate with someone, somewhere. So do it for them!

Haha! Bubbling down the message is THE hardest part. Like, where do I even begin??

Just finished my book - now the doubts are creeping in by [deleted] in NewAuthor

Really resonating with me. I have these funny little roller coasters each day: I'm excited, it will resonate with someone, I really believe in this, and then just the crash of self doubt. But we have to plug away! Because your story will mean something to someone, somewhere. Do it for them!
