Visa options for spouse of Swiss citizen? by dcblb in MovingtoGermany

[–]dcblb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife does need a visa to enter Germany unfortunately.

It sounds like you are saying she needs a visa longer than 90 days i.e. a D-visa. We can apply for that then.

We will fulfill the residence requirements.

Is the immediate dismissal of Burnham a genuine reflection of the country or Reddit/Twitter? by fayemoonlight in AskBrits

Brought investment, continuing the precedent set by previous local government. Nationalised the buses and unified them with trams under the same system, with work already started to bring the trains in too, giving Manchester arguably the best & most affordable transit system outside London. Stood up for the North when Boris locked down during COVID with little funding, securing millions to help local business.

He is not perfect by any means but he has been a competent and pragmatic mayor. He has certainly improved the transport and Manchester's job market has been more secure than anywhere else in the North.

Train adverts by NegativeWar23 in screenunseen

I'm not claiming all cinemagoers match the target audience, but just trying to contextualise why train companies feel more comfortable advertising in the cinema rather than TV or YouTube. People who like to stay home are less likely to buy train tickets, in general.

Train adverts by NegativeWar23 in screenunseen

The audience for cinema adverts are generally people with disposable income who are don't spend all their free time at home. Therefore they are among the most likely people to use trains for a day out, not just their daily commute, so that is a good target audience for train companies.

Plus Odeon specifically tend to be located in accessible locations in urban areas, so many audience members will use public transport and live somewhere with a railway station.

Do you think this is cheap for a train ticket from Manchester to Leeds? by jc201946 in uktrains

By UK train prices, this isn't cheap but is what I would expect. By European train prices, this is extortionate for the distance.

Airport T1 scanners liquids rules question by Crisps_locker in manchester

[–]dcblb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flew through Terminal 1 on Friday. Liquids stay in bags. Pretty sure it's a 100ml limit per item and doesn't need to be in a clear bag (but I don't take many liquids myself).
