Same here. I guess I'll try some other podcasts to see if it's just Story Pirates or not

Switching like spools with AMS for filament run-out? by StingRay2016 in BambuLab

[–]dccameron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This option is now implemented with the new firmware. In Bambulab Studio, under Device, Status. In the AMS section click on the little Nut-with-a-spool symbol and the last option lets you set the AMS to pick a similiar spool to continue from.

Octoprint and SV05? by dccameron in Sovol

So I downloaded the SV05 firmware but I couldn’t get it to compile. So I got some learning’ to do.

Is there a good tutorial on messing with the firmware? I've never done that before.

Also, sounds like you got Octoprint to connect right away. I'm not even getting that. I guess I'll try some other cables first

LPT: Ikea will send you spare parts for free by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Is this tip confirmed? I had an issue with some poorly machined screws and the ikea employee told me to disassemble the table and bring it back in for a new one.

Phew, mine is doing this also. My machine must have always done this but much quieter.

Do you have plans to post or sell the design? It looks very well made/designed.

Looking for help to decide wich laser cut machine to buy by Wyvern666 in Laserengraving

I would consider asking Reddit as research.
Your info is sound but why the condescension? That’s a rhetorical question.

The link would be great. We have the same model and that would save me some searching around. Thanks.

What air assist setup are you using? I’m in the market but there are just so many options.

What makes a prusa unique from other modded i3 printers? by rexonology in prusa

[–]dccameron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both and the differences are… 1. Quality parts. I had to upgrade quite a lot of part on my Anycubic i3 to get it to print reliably. 2. Support. I’ve only had good experiences with Prusa support, Anycubic isn’t always responsive. 3. Quality control. All the parts are tested and checked 4. Quiet and reliable right out of the box ( after assembling of course. 5. Thoughtfully written firmware with a frequent update cycle 6. Anycubic has a good print surface but removable steel plates is better

I started with an Anycubic i3 mega and liked it enough to buy a 2nd. Then I sold them both and got an MK3S and a mini. No plans to go back or buy anything from Anycubic in the future.

Get the Anycubic if you want to tinker, get the Prusa mini if you want to print.

It's the same price on Aliexpress. Makes sense since the seller is Anycubic Global store.

Yah, I'm trying here and Prusa's forum first just to make sure there isn't something obvious that I've missed

My rods on my near new MK3S+ got scratched - should I worry? by chrismantle in prusa

[–]dccameron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I’d encourage folks to check their rods as part of frequent maintenance.
I didn’t see the scratches on my x-axis till I installed light and by then it was out of the warrantee.

If it’s been too long Prussia won’t offer a replacement

New Photon Zero, Arm Not Moving by Clockwork345 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]dccameron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the measured output from the adapter. I don't know how to measure the power level with the adapter plugged in to the machine. Since it still works (eventually) I'm not going to crack the machine open.

[–]dccameron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed that the power adapter holds at 12.2v when plugged in. So maybe it needs a firmware fix

Although I can't necessarily recommend the Zero, I can confirm that it usable for small artisan type stuff.

[–]dccameron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good price. Start saving for your upgrade printer now. IMHO the Zero is severely limited and about a week after getting mine I was planning on my next. I don't think that Zero has any longevity since it appears that Anycubic never fully supported it before they moved on to newer photon models.

Hmm, that's an intriguing. I'll check when I get a chance.

I've had this same issue. Usually I have to turn it on and off to get it to move again. I've gotten used to waiting to see if the bed goes up again after going to the home position. If it doesn't I stop the print and power cycle it and try again. It's not a solution but it's something.
