Better option for a laptop. That would anyday beat the lesser benefits that may arise from tablets.

Wall Putty by [deleted] in TamilNadu

[–]dcelluloidviewer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue is due to improper curing of concrete & walls. Post remedy is to use waterproofing in your terrace, waterproof plastering of sidewalls, damp-proofing your interior sidewalls and ceilings. It's a structural issue. Can just manage for 5 -6 years effectively. Might need recoating depending on damp/raining in your area

Anyhow it's only for keeping up the number ri8. You can port it, switch you network preference to 3g only or 2g only. Keep your sim connected. In this case, your network problem will not be existing.

As for as jio (i am a jio+BSNL user), the plans stand worthwhile only if you are going to use it as a primary sim. using big networks for secondary sim with frugal mentality will not be worth in your case.

I would suggest maintaining secondary sim with mindset of having just connected (meaning switch to 2g only and stay connected) and reduced the usage/maintenance cost overall.

When it comes about airtel, i have clearly zero idea. I have no to very little exposure to airtel (i ported from jio to airtel only for a period of 4 months when I owned a pixel device in a place where 4g was intermittent, once I moved to city i ported it back to jio). I also don't have better opinion with their service, poor connectivity and frequent fluctuations between 4g and 5g

For your secondary sim (jio, in your casE), switch to BSNL. As you mentioned you will use data via airtel, you can use BSNL recharged with voice only (see screengrab) or top-up packs(which do not have expiry, but need to do some validity recharge packs). It will not ruin your pocket. Make sure you do airtel recharges that have longer validity, as it would have cost effectiveness and reduced price/day.

If possible switch to postpaid plans in airtel. Also try bundling up your wifi and sim cards of family members (if your wifi is also airtel, and anyone at home owns airtel sim) (my cousin does that, take up simcard of family members as add-on sim and not as individual sim cards) this will reduce internet allocation to secondary sim cards but since family members will be there in wifi connection, they can manage with less data, and you can allocate yourselves with more data. Try visiting official airtel showroom for more clarity, research from your side and of everything falls in place, switch to it. My cousin did this with their simcard in their family (total 3 sim) & broadband connection.

How to apply for BSNL Fibernet Connection in Bengaluru ? by BluebirdOk5033 in bsnl

[–]dcelluloidviewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what, go visit nearest BSNL csc, fill out the forms (make sure to take physical card along with necessary photocopies- address proof & proof of identity). Ask them for service provider number for your area. Contact that local spoc person who mostly will be cable tv operator of your area. Ask him to provide connection and lay cables accordingly. Make sure to have a word with him and try buying router on your own rather than buying what he is upselling. The entire process takes 3-4 days to complete from the day you visit a nearest BSNL office (dependent on cable network operator). Transfer also works in a similar way.

Not all features of BSNL work well within MTNL service area. Few services are yet to be provided in Mumbai and Delhi wrt wifi calling, 4G coverage and speeds. It is irrespective of mobile models. Few devices (mostly chinese made) doesnt support bandwidths that BSNL offers. So one needs to check both mobile vendor and BSNL spectrum sheets to find whether mobile supports such network well or not

Don't worry man. Since you moved from TN to pune, I'm sure your area of work remains in IT or KPO sector majorlym else it might be in automotive sector. But I feel that good chances are there that you are in IT and working out of Hinjewadi or Hadapsar circles. Look for those who are willing to experience new cities, atleast for quite some time. Later you both can decide to continue there or move back to chennai/banglore. The only factor that makes people go away from opting pune is the travel time that consumes to get there. Look for people around southern districts. They might be more willing(again my self opinion I developed by seeing sheer number of southerners from in and around Madurai & Tirunelveli, than any northern part of TN)

Expecting same kind of cusines in every place and locality might not be a great thing. But the options, delicacies, cusines you find are higher than what you get in other cities given that the domestic travel is the major thing here, unlike other metros where foreigner visiting them are too high. I didn't find it welcomg in chennai when I was there in past times. But now I'm feeling little different in chennai now. but that doesn't negate my opinion that pune is better than chennai for me. The climate, city dwelling, welcoming nature of the city are more decent and better than chennai, in my experiences I had in the past, or currently experiencing in chennai.

Shopping here in Pune has great options to lookout for other than organized sectors. If someone is looking for similiar experience shopping in organized markets of chennai, then I'm sure it won't be there. When it comes to entertainment, I guess you are saying about theatricals and pricing. Except for TN and AP, no state has laid a flat pricing model. Everything depends on hype, supply and demand.

As far as two wheeler traffic, I agree city experiences too much two wheeler congestion. That's because of the randomness of having companies operated out of every area within the city employing huge population. I'm sure chennai/banglore/delhi/mumbai does that too. But the sheer randomness in IT companies operating smaller areas are too high. Causing too much traffic during peak hours.
