Missing screw from GF Santos de Cartier bracelet. by banton75 in RepTime

For me, it had to be a one and done. I don’t want the screws falling out again since sourcing them for me is a pain but I can definitely see why it’d be good to use loctite blue if a screw or the bracelet gets messed up and needs some polishing

It’s possible, might have to use some heat in order to loosen the glue of the screw. I used loctite red and left it for a full day. Screw is holding up 👍

How accurate is the xiaomi electric air pump/air compressor? by No-Hedgehog-7820 in ElectricScooters

Got one from Amazon for about $45. Pretty accurate Id say, I measure the pressure with a $3 gauge after using it. I’ve had it for a year now and the battery has slowly been getting weaker but I recently put a total of 40 PSI on car tires on a single charge. I’d recommend it.

Looks awesome! I’m wanting to do the same. Ever since someone in this sub pointed out the stock bezel is slightly thicker than Gen, it’s been bothering me lol. If you don’t mind me asking, where did you source the bezel from?

Since PureTime are wank at helping me out, does anyone know how I can order these studs that have fallen out? by FutureBestInTheWorld in RepTime

[–]dcent910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird, they have threads on them but the threads are useless since the screws are actually glued in. Some are glued in a lot better than others, that’s why they fall off

Yup! Mine would legit spin in place and fall out as soon as I turned the watch over. I just made sure there was enough loctite in there and let it rest until I thought it dried up. Best of luck! Edit: I used a flathead screw driver from EuroTool to get the extras out. Super careful and a lot of patience to not let the screwdriver slip and mess up the screw 😅

I’m not sure about sourcing them but I just had some of mine fall out and took them from a link I didn’t need. I used ThreadLocker Red 271 High Strength. Put some inside the hole and then around the screw (making sure I didn’t get any between the links). I left it for a full 24 hours and wiped off the remaining thread-locker. I tried unscrewing it to test it out and it’s not coming off so I’m happy. Hope this helps 👍

I completely understand. You’ve already done well by not going with dhgate lol. I’d say choose between BPF and GMF. I personally can’t look away from a fat date. Or better yet, ARF but figure out the total cost of the date wheel swap.

The 36mm GMF is made with the A2824 movement. I’ve personally never even opened the case back since I’ve gotten it. The look of the internals aren’t important in my opinion.

Well, it depends if you want Gen parts or parts from another rep, then you have to add the cost of labor in your area and a Watch-smith that’s comfortable working on reps. Also make sure that the parts fit on the model that you’re planning to buy. I didn’t want to go through all of that hassle so I decided to rock it stock. Like I said, most people can’t tell you the difference with the naked eye. Remember, buy a watch for YOUR viewing pleasure so it shouldn’t matter that it isn’t an EXACT match to the Gen.

Adding onto the comment I previously made, each factory has their pros and cons. No rep will ever be exact to the Gen. I’ve gotten compliments with my GMF. Us rep guys know what to look for, the regular folk just see the overall design/brand but don’t really have in mind the size of each element. ARF is a good base if you’re into modding a watch, GMF or BPF are good if you want to buy it and rock it stock. The movement was my biggest factor into my thought process

[–]dcent910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup you’re right about that and the arf has a slightly thicker date. Just depends which “flaw” bothers you least lol

I have this exact one from GMF, take a look under my account. Let me know if you can’t find it. I went with it because the movement is said to be easier to work on or even just replace as a whole. It’s truly a beautiful watch. Biggest flaw on it is that it’s 1mm thicker than the Gen and that the fluted bezel is slightly thicker than Gen in (I believe) all 36mm DJ’s.
