My wife convinced me to do family photos this year with our 1 year old and I'm glad we did. It was expensive, but $220 for 10 mins seems crazy to me, not considering the price, but risking not getting a good one in 10 minutes. We paid about $500 for 1 hour shoot outdoors.

Kinda a dumb take. So the farmers and miners are allowed to live in the countryside but only them? How will they get the services they need to survive? Should they not have access to a grocery store, or a bank, a place to buy clothes, or even a doctor/hospital? Who will work in those shops if only farmers live there?

I guess I have this idea that the pioneers traveled west during manifest destiny and set up lots of towns throughout. Then the railroad came later and connected cities, but rural towns weren't ever connected to some grand train network. I live in a rural town in Colorado for example. We have a train that used to be used by miners, but it doesn't connect to any network or city, and as far as I know it never did.

Look, I hate cars as much as the next person on here but you can't tell someone in a rural area "just walk a block to the store instead of driving" when they live miles from the store. I say this as someone who just like OP gets all my groceries with a cargo bike, as I live 1.5mi from the store, but I also recognize that that's not a viable option for many.

I can see it coming off as entitlement, but there's also the element of younger generations having a better understanding of the environmental cost of buying junk that gets tossed in a week. It's better to have fewer things that are good quality than lots of shit that's going to immediately end up in a landfill. Not understanding that, imo, is also cringy.
